XsunX’s amorphous silicon solar cells aren’t more efficient -- they convert just 6 percent of light energy that hits them into electricity, compared with 15 percent for traditional silicon cells. They are, however, more versatile: A 20-story building has about 10 times more space for PowerGlass than it does for roof panels.

Yeah, I'd say that rocks.

Imagine a A/C compressor in your auto not belt driven, but electrical. Hey, when it is usually hot, it usually sunny, no? There are companies that are building more efficient A/C compressors (Unfortunately car companies like to do like the U.S. govt., build cheap, sell high) and we could very well see a 10% gain or more in, coughs, fuel combustion engines. For the hybrids? The sky is the limit.

Powering the car A/C with the electrical system would be an unnecessary drain, and you couldn't get anywhere near the power from a solar cell needed to run it.
