I went to Gamespy planning to play some chess or poker, and did not find those gaming venues any more.  Are they gone?

The overly political sig?  What's up with that?  As I am sure you must know, a number of world organizations have determined that a majority of those people being held in Gitmo as you call it are indeed not terrorists and have been not been charged with anything, nor do these so-called enemy combatants have any access to American Courts to determine whether or not their detention is even legal.  And as far as I know, their detention is not legal under International Law and the Geneva Convention which I believe the current administration that I assume that you also "heart" characterized as quaint and irrelevant.  Considering the excesses of Abu Garabe which I believe John McHain, a Vietnam POW, Senator from Arizona, and a firm supporter of Geneva Conventions, has publicly denounced, and the thousands of civilian deaths due to American tactics in Iraq, and the instability brought to the entire region by this illegal war, I find little reason to support the actions of this adminstration in their supposed War on Terror, be it the imprisonment of countless people uncharged in Gitmo, the policy of extraordinary rendition that sends prisoners to countries in which torture is not illegal, or the torturous twisting of principles of human decency and rights to propose a redefinition of torture itself such that it would be perfectly legal at the request of this adminstration.

You'd have a point except that it's well within Lepton's power to turn off sigs if he finds some so offensive. That, and calling it an illegal war pretty much just made his whole post ' political ' as well.

Agree about Lepton's "illegal war" line too, Hot and Spicy stuff there,a very good point but you disqualified it with the turn off the sigs  remark since  noone has to read that either they can just turn off the  thread.. Such an argument works for me on Hot & Spicy because it is somewhere you ask to be admitted to, but not here.

I would ask you to reconsider the sig too however in a polite and non assuming way.  Either way I'm going to Shut the hell up after this post so I won't be bothering anyone further, just serving beers to all

If you'd like to play poker online, there are many venues for that.  PokerStars, PartyPoker, FullTiltPoker, Hold'emPoker, etc, etc.  I am sure there are any number of other venues from those type of games including those offered by Yahoo, MSN, pogo.com, what-have-you.  Don't know what the best site is for any of that, but I'm sure you can find one to your liking.
