« on: November 28, 2005, 09:52:52 am »
heard Loud pop while driving home this morning, and now the right rear tire is shakeing but nothing looks broke and no flat either. But I can kick the tire and it moves  and I can move it around with my hand and I know its not suppose to do that. this car is starting to cost me money I dont have.  tell me it sounds like somthing cheap to fix. As I cant aford 604 bucks to replace the back srtuts.

If I knew anything abut cars I would, but I dont out side the simple stuff and thats a big maybe.

But I got it to a mechanic right down the street fom my apartment, and they said they wount charge anything to check it out either, unlike firestone who wanted 20 bucks to tell me whats wrong with it.

You can always get yourself a Chilton Book for the car.  It gives you step-by-step instructions on how to repair every part of it yourself, and they cost about $20 at an Autozone or NAPA.

well this month is going in the craper another 250 bucks to fix what broke on my car  the shop was kind enough to knock have off as they will fix the important part to where I at least will have transportation back and forth to work. Thankfully I dont live that far from work only 2.5 miles, but it's third shift and Im not going to walk in 20 and 30 degree weather, epically with the wind blowing like it is.

I need a new car really badly. Dont have to be fancy as im looking at one of those Suzuki Reno's or even a Kia Reo. dont care about work tonight as Im gonna call in tonight, aint like its the weekend.

What was it?

It sounded sort of like a loose bolt, but from the sounds of it it from what you told us of having to pay $250 USD it sounds almost as if it had something to do with the axle?

Well what he showed me was the sway bar? I think he called it broke, to fix it compleatly it would have coust 420 bucks, as I dont have that he's going to fix the important part to where it will be safe to drive. Said it would be bouncy but safe. No Hiwaydriving I supose but all I have been able lately is mainly back and forth to work no how.

Sway bars do not usually break, the bushings and stuff with rubber parts filled with grease start coming apart, then you lose tension that was there before and get movement that should not be there.

What year is your Camry, K? You have an Advance auto parts where you live? Try buying one of these, you will thank me later on, it does not have drawings, it has photographs, and they do a step by step method based upon a complete rebuild of the car, as well as excellent troubleshooting info.
