I guess that it was just a matter of time before I got bit hard enough by the modeling bug to do this. It's my first attempt at my own model from scratch.

I decided to pick a race that doesn't have a lot of custom models. Kzinti/Mirak Command Cruiser TMP era.

Looks good !

I'm not that much of an expert or the Mirak ... but .. as far as I can tell .. looks very well done.

Nice design, but I've always had a problem with that color scheme, brick red just doesn't do it for this Kzinti.

Well, I'm not really fond of the red either. It's not real easy to get it to look metalic. I had to a pretyy strong gradient so it wouldn't look like "velvet". That's the color of the Kzinti, though.

I'm glad that you guys like it anyways. (Pink, eh?

the red doesn't thrill me, and I've never really liked lyran anyways but the ship looks way better than most I've seen.

That is an awsome Mirak design. I really like how you did the engines. I do agree, making Red Metal look real is probably pretty tough.

Not necessarily true, its only the color for SFB purist. Metallic colors would fit fine with the Larry Niven concept, and he did create the Kzinti

Go with what looks good Rod, don't be limited by SFB if you don't want to be. I mean you changed the hull what so hard about changing the colors?

Well, what I'm going for with it, and the Gorns, is TMP refitted SFB designs. Like what Thu11s did with his Lyrans. Seeing as how you're a Kzinti though, I hope you like what I've done with it.

I love the design Rod just dislike the colors, any chance you could do the same design with a different color scheme as an alternative? If so I'd definately use them on the Dyna

And I'm thankful for all models, especially Kzin ones as they are so rare.

My alternate avatar should give you an idea about the colors I pefer however
