normally keep resolutions for bmps to a max of 1024x1024.  however for the mccoy i have 1 texture at 2048x1024 (size is doubled).  i was wondering if this would have any really bad effects, it should increase the total mem size of all the texture (from a 1024 max) by 2 megs.  would this be overly probablmatice?

i ask because i have 2 computers, both of which can run it, however i'm unsure how an old machine would handle it (w/ that my rig can support 2048 x 2048 for up to 4 textures...)

These days I doubt there are any systems left in use that can barely run SFC3, and if there are, they're far and few in between.  The Galaxy EVO has several 2048x2048 texture sheets and she loads well in SFC3.  I'm not sure how SFCOP and SFC2 would handle such texture sheet sizes though.

Then I'd say you're pretty good to go if you use 2048 x 2048 size sheets.

Maybe we should do a poll and see if we can figure out how many people left still run the game with low end systems.
