I have returned
« on: November 15, 2005, 03:18:19 pm »
Okay I have pulled out my copy of OP. From what I have seen SFC2:EAW is pretty much dead. I am gonna start some solo play to get back up to speed. Whats a good server to look for in the next few weeks?

Wow!  Where the heck have *you* been hiding?  Good to see you.

There are no "active" D.net campaigns at the moment, and probably won't be for another two weeks.  However Bartok's "Batok's Basement" and Bonk's "The Forge" are both fun places to spend some time.  Bartok is using his to learn the server kit and Bonk is using his to test improvements to the server kit, so logging onto either helps the state of the game.

Hail Scipio my old friend. lets see I hid for a while in Mechwarrior, participated in MWL and NBT. I then took a leap to EVE and played there for about 6 months, then bailed and floated amongst many different games. Lately I was really into NWN and Thief but felt the SFC itch.

I loaded up OP last night and then loaded the Enhancement package 3.2

I forgot how many minor things there are to configure. I have been fighting now for an hour trying to get my Home and End key to rotate my camera, to no effect :-(

I am still on the search it seems for some good solo play. I want to run a grand campaign but I want to tweak the monster missions to be like a 1 or 2 over an entire c
campaign in percentage.

I am also looking to tweak the game like we had it back in the day with FF being everywhere, CAs and such being much less common and DNs and BBs being a BIG DEAL. I will have to learn this all over again but that is half the fun :-)

Might start here bud:

http://www.dynaverse.net/forum/index.php/topic,163361467.0.html

The old klingon battel tactics manual was posted a while back...but the link is now dead...

I'll see if I can dig it up elsewhere...

Your more than welcome to fly any KBF wing next server......but if your only looking to join for one server...I can look into an honorary membership....(lord knows you earned it)...

You could allways just sign in Klink and wear a TFD tag if you wish...or no tag at all...

I'm sure just about everyone knows who you are and would be honored to have you on their wing...

Hehe, I still am in contact with many on that list, lets see:

SFCShadow (that would be me. LOL)
Sfaret (Edster, we all know and love)
oScottyo (Sal, still alive and kicking, talk to him at least once a week, sometimes much more often. LOL)
Khoros (Dutch, sadly I've not talked to him much since NwN days)
Magnumman (James, he still plays NWN and I hear from him once in a while still, he's trying to get us back into NwN. lol)
Kirk Jr (Jake, Was in constant contact with him up to about 2-3 months ago, and he's fallen off the planet, Sal and Jay have also lost him at about the same time. :()
NTDN (Jay, He's got an IT contract gig that has him hopping all over the west, but I talk to him at least once a week or so, still)
Ynrohkeeg (Lost the Horny Geek after SFC:OP unfortunately)
Crimson Knight (Steph, hear from him from time to time as well still, say once a month)
Crimnick (now who is this guy .... hmmmm I wonder (LOL), just kidding Crimmy, who could forget you!)
Wisdom (Roger, still hear from him as well, about bi-monthly or so)
I think the one you think you forgot was Denali (Mike) who I also am still in semi-contact with, though maybe there was someone else. LOL. :)
Oh wait, there was also Talenclaw (Jim), I'm in semi-regular contact with him as well, he's deeply involved in WoW still (Sal, Jay, Jake and I all stopped playing that several months ago).

If I recall correctly Ed, you have to be in F2 view (or the one that is you or your enemy view, toggle), then you can rotate, that's the only view mode it "used" to work in anyway, I think.

Crim it would be an honor to fight with such a noble fleet, I even have a Klingon name my wife gave me, maQmIgh. The name means Dark Omen :-)

Dennis, tell the gang I have overcome my issues with fantasy gaming and have been playing NWN in OC for a while now and would love to join in.

I just reinstalled NWN myself, what server is OC?  Would be fun to have someone to play with.

The others (except Mags) I don't think play NWN anymore, though Sal and Jay are looking at NwN2 when it comes out.  I've not seen anything on NWN2 myself yet, but they keep telling me to go look. lol

OC is not a server, official campaign :-) I have played through the first and Shadows of Undertide, I am now in a player made campaign designed as a bridge to the next expansion. I am running a straight rogue, right now at level 15.

In SFC I think I am getting the hang of it again. In solo play la' maQmIgh commanding the frigate Blood Wine has successfully defended the shipyards in the O'Corley system, in doing so he caputre two Federation destroyers and a Federation escort frigate.

Cool, I just started playing again, and I've worked my way from my trusty F5, to an F5L, to a D7B, to my C7 (yay). I love my C7. Hehe

I've got FireSoul's OP 4.0 installed and I'm liking the models in it. heh

Is it me or did Fire also supe up the campaign (err Dynaverse). I was playing before it with just the 2.5.5.2 patch and there were hardly any ships (both in "shipyard") and on the map, now...poof lots of ships everywhere.  Before when I was playing I'd face one or two ships, now...three to five ships.  I'm liking the 500-800 scores, from the 200ish I was making per mission before...but I'll be in a fleet of DN's at this pace. lol

la' maQmIgh today was ordered with the Blood Wine to attend a "peace" conference at Organia. While there the Organians betrayed us all and launched an attack at with a new ally known as the ISC.

Realizing that information on this new threat was vital, maQmIgh launched a devistating boarding attack on an ISC frigate and then was able to capture a damaged ISC light cruiser. Along the way he was able to facilitate the destruction of a Mirak and Hydran frigate. The Romualn Snipe that was present did not engage perferring to hide under it's cloak like a pirate. The glory for this vitory is all for the Empire.

In reward for this bold and glorious victory la' maQmIgh was put in command of the Batleth Attack Wing, commanded by the F5C Krags Eye, the F5 Blood Wine, and the F5D Star Volley.

The Batleth Attack Wing has been assigned to the Federation border, there is much chance for glorious battle.

Okay I have really missed this game. Was playing just a bit ago, my Frigate Squadron encountered a Federation Battlegroup, it was composed of a Command Cruiser, Survey Cruiser and a frigate. I was out gunned and knew it, but a true Klingon does not run from a fight.

For almost an hour we where locked in deadly combat. At the end all of my ships where destroyed, but not before the Command Cruiser was killed, the GSC was a burning hulk in space and the FF was limping around the map.

WOW, that was fun :-)
