I just bought the Barbarian Invasion expansion.  Truly addictive game.

My roommate was really into it during last semester and the summer.  He still plays it, but not quite as often.  He's a member of the Arcani clan and goes by Viper.

Using the mouse to control the camera seems to work well for me.

Lets see --

Shogun total war -- still enjoy it now and then -- also mongol expansion

Med total war -- still enjoy it now and then with viking expansion

Rome total war -- bought it and didnt get to play it very often as my system was too low end -- wife's system ran it fine but she was always on DAoC..

Upgraded my system last week and first and only game to go on it was ROME TW.. then SFC/OP...

Is there a rome expansion .. will definately look into it..

For anyone who plays rome -- I have your have been watching the HBO Series Rome -_ excellent show!!! excellent!!

(PS I will now add I think they really buggered up by not allowing the campaign games to be played as a multi player game -- IF ONLY THE  had this game would be one of the best series ever made)

Rome?  Hell, I just got the expansion pack for Medieval.

Not that I'm complaining.  Ireland WILL conquer all the British Isles.  Well, unless I play the Vikings.

Not if the Welsh yeomen have anything to say about it.   ;D

I play the game a lot.  As the Scipio faction, of course.   ;)

There is.  It is called Barbarian Invasion, and is still fairly new.

Now that I totally agree with!  It's the empire building that makes this game great.   Pure skirmish missions get boring really quickly.  It's still one of the best single-player games I own, but the multiplayer could have added so much more.

I play better w/ house Julii. Brutii and Scipii are harder to manage and they do tend to get into trouble faster. :)

We Scipii don't like to be managed.  We're an autonomous collective.

You Julii represent a dictatorship.  (I didn't vote for you.)

Started a new game playing the greek faction for the first time --

I am kicking arse as the spartans....just took over rome year 150 =  settings very hard -- very hard -- didnt think the spartan unit was that good to begin with then I learned -- use it for the offense use the armoured hoplits to hold the line for missile troops -- add a few ongers and the battle is ours!!

Expected all of italy to join and fight against my attack on rome-- pah!

I've been playing the mod Rome Total Realism this weekend while I recover from whatever it was the kids gave me.

What difficulty settings do you all typically use?  Battle/campaign I generally leave it at hard/hard.
