Gow vs. Nanner, no other flamewar had its own disciples.

Having a flamewar is one thing but Crusade vs. Jihad is something else.

Dizzy - talks alot, may shout or bully, but I'm not sure that what he says is always well-founded, although he of course thinks it does.

Kroma -  irascible, but usually well-reasoned if heated arguements.  He has something to say.

Water Tiger - the consumate conspiracy theorist.  If I remember, his tone was more shrill and ascerbic.  Again, another person convinced of his correctness, but feeling largely slighted, insulted, and/or persecuted most of the time.

Hexx?? - when has he been in a flame fest?  He's a purring kitty.

I don't have sufficient time on the forums from the early days to comment on flames from that era, but my assumption is that with there just being more folks around back then, there is a greater likelihood that one of those folks back then was a bigger flamer than anyone here now.

That is pretty much it, if it related to feds and klinks it was likely the subject of a heated debate between these two.

Dizzy was, Lepton. I dont get ban warnings from admins weekly anymore, not for a long time, hehe. Recent flames pale in comparison to the ones of old. IMO, flame threads havent been mean and nasty since before Taldren split. These recent flame threads dont measure up, same as Hexx.

And chuut talks of disciples, ha! Brezgonne and I were the 1st. Unless Gow vs Nanner happened b4 Articfires, and nothing from them really sticks out in my mind anyway... Amateurs. Besides, the two of those guys didnt stick their business in everyone elses like I did and as a result their flames didnt spread like mine. I burned downed houses, towns, cities and countries.

Kroma may be the prettiest, but I'm much hotter. ;) And he cant hold a flicker in the wind when it comes to the flames I've brought this community... It's a better place because of me.  ;D Dont ANYONE forget it. I havent even gotten a thanks for all the great things I've argued and won for this community... Game speed 8 for one.  :o After I win this poll, I want a tribute thread done up in my honor for all to praise and worship my great deeds done for this community.

Does anyone have archived Taldren forum threads from 2001-2003? Those were the days!

Dizzy
Kroma
Water Tiger
Hexx
anyone but 762

Not that it's anything to brag about cuz flaming is not a good thing to do. But, if provoked, I can take anyone of these guys, and have on probably a few too many occasions over the last 3 years.

Dizzy, gets too rhetorical; Kroma gets into a rut too easily; WaterTiger can't stop thumbing his nose at authority figures, just like T.O.; Hexx jokes around too much, and eventually contradicts himself. The rest will have trouble making the first cut.

One thing a lot of flamers, that eventually get slammed big-time by the Admins., do is mess up and break forums rules.  In other words:  playing dirty pool.  Depending on the Admin's professionalism, sooner or later, the rule-breaking flamers will lose big-time there.

Contrary to a few accusations from some long-time forums posters in the past a couple of years ago: I've never like flaming, but I do try to finish a fight to the last dead horse, if someone starts one. And, I don't trust the person again easily again when that happens.

It's one of the reasons, I joined the GFL. Flamers get booted real quick there, so I never get provoked.

That being said:  I like the D.net forums, a whole lot better than the old Taldren forums. I don't know if it's a combination of better forum leadership or the smaller playerbase being forced to "get along", but these forums are a lot funner to be on than the Old Taldren ones.  D.net forums don't tolerate witch-hunt persecutions, like what was tolerated on Old Taldren forums.

Brez, nanner and Gow come to mind before anyone on the current poll list.  Let's see just a few of the subjects I can remember...

G drone racks - should all be changed to EITHER amd OR drone racks - should not be able to do both.
Magic Photons of course
Drones in general - how they are all cheeze and easy to use, people flying droners are just lousy pilots that can't win with direct fire.
Feds having phG, PlasmaF, G racks (see above) - so why not give the Klingons a Helbore or two and the Lyrans some AMD?
Cheese fleets - escorts, droner fleets.

These are just a few,  I'm sure given time I could think of more!

Although I wasn't around in the ancient times, from everything
I've heard no one on the list compares to the old people.
Water Tiger (from what I've heard) was simply a delusional paranoid
Dizzy's just confuses his talents at flying with the ability to form a cohesive argument,
Kroma simply ignores the issue, and argues something completely different
while trying to maintain that he knows what he's talkin about.
t00l just snivels about his fighters alot
I don't actually become involved in flame wars, I usually go sulk
when I realize none of you appreciate my genious.

OMG, what a flacid looking "STFU!!!"!!! How sad for you Dizzy, looks like you are having trouble keeping it up. You know they have pills for that these days. Hell, I'll forward you a few of these emails clogging my inbox. No not the fan mail and love letters, the Viagra ads.

Since when is a bitch slapping of 762 a good example of a skillful display?

The difference is that when I am done bitch slapping him he sends me flowers.

I've heard of Nannerites and Gowites, Even a High Church of Nanner, but never any Dizzites or Kromites, so you guys have a way to go as a cult movement is required for any pretentions at the throne.

Actually those sound like a medical condition and a venereal disease  ;D

Well you are partially right, luckily Nannerites were easily removed with lasers, Gowites could be cleared up with an improved diet and better hygine.

You misspelled "the Ditzzies" though, which isn't so much a disease as it is a condition caused by a previously injury to the inner ear after having Kroma bitch slap you in a flame thread or in the privacy of his cabin (then it is more of a sexual related injury). The condition is easily diagnosed since the primary symptom is disagreeing with any idea put forward by myself as to game mechanics or my gorgeousness. I am pretty certain that you have been suffering from this Chuut. Ever since the in game smacking around I gave you that caused you to create the homage to my reptilian beauty, you have been a little scattered, might just be that you are getting all tongue tied in my presence.

There is no such thing as Kromites. You are probably confusing the flock of adoring fans, suitors and gentleman callers (not to mention all the cabin boy applicants) with disciples.

Kroma simply ignores the issue, and argues something completely different
while trying to maintain that he knows what he's talkin about.

Still smarting from the rejection letter to your cabin boy application I see? Let's face it Hexx you just never measured up to my standards. I'm in a whole different league than you. If I was seen slumming while entertaining one of your hair brained ideas in a debate it was more out of pity than respect for your intellectual or physical prowess.

Yes Hexx that ringing in your ears and slight off balance feeling is the onset of "the Ditzzies". I'm pretty sure you will be coming down with a case given all the times I knocked you around.

Kroma gets into a rut too easily;

Well that is to be expected, when I have to keep explaining the same old basic facts to you dolts over and over. Now go crawl back under the lily pad you poked your wart covered head from under. I mean really what are you posting here for at all for, didn't you quit this game and community like 10 times?

<snicker>

XOXOXO
Kroma

PS, Actually in all seriousness, no poll on flame warriors can be complete or valid without Nanner or Gow on it. Now you want to start a poll attention/forum whoring Dizzy is the winner hands down. Man that guy really craves attention and just likes to here himself type. He's a bit of a narcissist too, even though his quoting skills are a bit lackluster.

you that you had to find a new game to play & new forums to hang out in.
While it's nice to see you drop in from time to time you're not

Wasn't Kraven banned several times in flame wars with FREDX....I can remember Dorsai deleting a thread I made right after I posted it....he was waiting to pounce knowing what was going on. I later thanked him....it was pretty vile. The fun thing was that whenever kraven would post from another ip or id name(depending on level of ban) he would always get the spelling wrong on the same words..like Dorsia instead of Dorsai

Flame wars don't bother me...admit it..as long as the game is fair(no cheating) a little animosity just adds to it

I *think* (hehe) that I almost know enough to get the server
settings set up correctly.

All I need is someone with a system that they're not terribly attached to
(and that can host a server...)

Talk to Frey.  Does't he still let people host servers on D.net's beast machine?  (I hope he does, since I'm hoping to use it......)

Well that is to be expected, when I have to keep explaining the same old basic facts to you dolts over and over. Now go crawl back under the lily pad you poked your wart covered head from under. I mean really what are you posting here for at all for, didn't you quit this game and community like 10 times?

Rumors of my retirement have been greatly exaggerated. Yer so gullible for a dino. ;D

PS. I have retired 3 times in the last 2 months. Or was it 4?  I've lost track. Anyway, I have just have not gotten around to announcing it yet.

Gow vs. Nanner, no other flamewar had its own disciples.

Having a flamewar is one thing but Crusade vs. Jihad is something else.

Chuut is 100% right. Those were battles of epic paporation.

NOPE NOPE And NOPE

For those who remember -- the true greatest flame wars were way back in GZ/Mpig days ---

Between --

3rd PX and -- Wisdom-Icop

They used to write 2 pages essays as a warm up...

Thank god the good old days are dead!
Not that this comes close to Wis vs peenix but honorable mention...

I remember those events vividly, especially Kraven's. I never laughed so hard at some of the things Kraven came up with.  Of course, I felt sorry for Dorsai with having to police Kraven.  ;D
