Requesting assistance (again)
« on: November 21, 2005, 10:51:31 am »
I have a number of meshes, and project that have kind a got stuck in the mud.  If I post a listing of those projects, their status, requested assistance needed to complete these projects ... is there any chance anyone would be willing to lend a hand.  I want to do the bulk of the work .. but I simply dont have the right programs to do it by my self.

Some of these need mod files and maps for texturing ..  some need light maps.

One project in question I still need a good Klingon D-7 to bash in .3ds.  (This is for the long awaited DB and BB's I've been wanting to do.

The good news is ....  I'm getting better at making a mesh ..  and in some cases can do them from scratch.  (This includes a remake of the Titan).

There are a total of 10 models we have at some stage of WIP.  I want to release them for everyone to be able to enjoy A.S.A.P. ..

Let me know what ya think.

thanks

heheh  ... actually I was going to do that last night ..  ISP problems again.  The way my little site is set up ...  .  For some odd reason I kept getting a FPT error.  I have not changed any settings .... soooo  the problem has to be on their end.

Hopefully this will be resolved this evening ...  and I can do exactly that.

thanks bud !

I had a chance to talk to AV last night ...  I guess I was like a little kid in a candy store ...

(Sorry AV)

At any rate ...   God willing we will start getting some of these projects ready for release.

Top of the list will be:

1.  USS Hope  ( just needs hard pointed)
2.  USS Alabama
3.  USS Iowa
4.  USS Titan (remake)

I still need the Klingon D-7 so I can get started on the DN and BB.  The idea is to make a ship to match the BB's for the Titan, Alabama and Iowa ..  ( to keep the game balanced).  Hmmmmm   would the Klingons even have a Medical Class ship?  That poses an interesting question !

What's your thoughts on that ?

I went over the 2 D-7's i tried to send ya an indeed both files were corrupt (missing mesh parts). SO choose another D-7 model and I'll try converting it for you.

Both were MOD files ..  and I reviewed them in the viewer last night ...  they  are good to go.  Either there is a problem with the transfer process ...  or in the conversion process.

BTW..   I finally got all of the MSN stuff you sent me a couple of nights ago.  My Microsoft would not open it (something in there it did not like).  Sooooo   I'm guessing that there was a problem with everything you tried to send to me for some odd reason.

If nothing else if we have the same problem again we can get the mesh converted from MOD to 3ds another way.

Is there a program I can DL to do that for me ?

Yeah the troouble is in the mesh at conversion. If we run into that problem again I'll just attach the 3D to this thread for ya  ;).

okie ...  that works...

Is there something I can DL ...  maybe I can do the conversion.  I'm sure its just a matter of importing ..  and exporting as a 3ds that the "Wings" program can use.

okie...   I just felt kinda bad bombarding ya all at once with this old mans WIP list.  I'm having the time of my life doing this for the community.

BTW ...  thanks for helping me to find that "Wings" program.  It was just the ticket for a beginner.  I still have a lot to learn ..  but this was just what the DR. ordered.

Thanks
