Wrah! I'm impressed... I gotta wonder how big this thing is next to a Constitution. It also screams target practice to the klingons...

If I may nitpick- aside from it being outside of the TMP timezone, it seems to wide. The origional UP (adopting that name ;) ) seemed more thin than wide but it could be the case that this is the TNG version.

I'd still like a TMP version if anyone's up to it. Otherwise, this ship lookes...um...big? Bigger than the Sovergin even... and violates the Starbase Hanger Door entry width limits :P

So uhm... thanks? Yeah.

Interesting, how about a .brk model with the intermodal containers all over the place?

My only gripe is that it doesn't look right with the saucer offset to the side, it seems like that at impulse it'll just fly around in circles.

Looking at the original pick it's 5 containers across and 7 rows long. I went 5 across and 5 rows long. Mines actually smaller  :P. I also scaled back the saucer, and secondary hull to match. If ya wanna tweak it Mackie, please do. You're much better at bashing then I am dude.

I don't know how to do brk. models, but if anyone wants to...go for it  ;)

Ya know I wondered about that. But the model actually looked TNG-ish with the nacelles and such. I can easily swap the TNG parts for a TMP version. Glad ya liked the class name .

I have to agree with Mackie on this one while its a great bash the proportions are a bit off

for example  look at the ref. on it it's actually 6 containers wide and 10 containers long but each container is about twice as wide and about 3/4 the length of one of the nacelles where as you have 5 containers wide and 5 containers long, while your containers are still about twice as wide as your nacelles you have to concider the fact that the TNG nacelles are all ready twice the width of a TMP nacelle. So proportionately speaking  your containers should be roughly the same length and width of the TNG nacelles though I'd say about 2.5 times the height

sorry for the rant  its just my HO

I want YOU to stop mutilating starships, and stop clogging up Battleclinic and your site with these sloppy bashes... you can do better than this, learning or not.

I want YOU to stop mutilating starships, and stop clogging up Battleclinic and your site with these sloppy bashes... what is this, the fifth? This sucks.

With all due respect to your opinion Reverend, You might want to write that in a better way. I'd probably write something like, "hmm.. makes a nice target for the Feds TNG adversaries" or something similar. IMHO Models Please is kitbashing is improving.

I am looking forward to a smaller TMP era version myself.

Best wishes,

I rather think that it looks nice. It definately has the virtue of having never being tried before. It's a really logical design and will no doubt be improved as his abilities improve.

I think it's great, MP... that'll be my SFC large merchantman if you do a TMP version!

Wow talk about cold. If ya don't like 'em don't D/L 'em. But no need for hostility like that, very not cool Reverend. >:(.

Thanks Khalee  ;D, I personally am not fond of this one but someone requested it so I tried to hook 'em up. I have a rescaled version I need to post and a TMP version as well to do.

Uncalled for, Reverand. there are more civilized ways of criticising someone if you feel it warranted. with the aging of the game we can use as many modellers as we can get. The only for a modeller to get that way is to practice practice practice, face constructive critiques and practice some more. you can start by pointing how his techniques was flawed and what portion of the model you felt was poorly done and why. There is nothing constructive in broadside "your model sucks" type put downs.

Bye all means please do Alec, I kinda figured that would be next lol , if ya could do .brk mods for them as well it would be most appreciated since I dunno how yet. Ok I updated the file at Battleclinic, there are now 2 models in the d/l. A Large and small version of the frieghter. Also I finished 2 TMP versions as well, again a large and small. I'll upload that one in the a.m. cause I'm tired now lol  ;)

Here is my critique. modelsplease; do not use a galaxy class saucer for this especially in a TNG era freighter. instead use a primary hull from at least one era in the past. no one would decommission a ship of the line or a ship that could still reasonable be pressed into service in a navy as a reserve ship. it is illogical. if you are going to use a starship primary hull at all it should be an obsolete one. the physical model in your first post makes sense because it could be a decommisioned hull of a small ship like a scout or science ship like the TMP era Grissom. generally speaking a frieght company would have no use for a galaxy hull that could be crewed by 2000 personnel. nor would the starfleet ever ever ever sell as scrap a intact hull that could mount advanced phaser emmiter arrays like that. really a frieghter would not need many personnel at allso such a hull would not make sense. however the cargo pod racK with MSCVAN like containers is classic! I like that.

keep the nacelles, or don't go farther back than amby nacelles. after the DW war these will be everywhere. Considering the akiras wasted, those wouldn't be a bad idea either. Excelcior or Miranda saucers could work.

I agree on the nacelles. the warp field would have to extend forward of the front end of the ship s advanced nacelles would make sense. i just object to the saucer.
