How frigging pathetic, to just always mumble "It is what it is." How about "Stupid is as stupid does?"  >:(

Sorry Canada, your judgement on that one sucked, and Denver handed your arse to you in payment.

NHL has devolved into an ass-backwards version of its former self in the past few years so I just concentrate on the European leagues until NHL gets it sh*t back together, if it even can.

I guess I don't understand why this makes you not a fan of hockey.  Because the sport has it's thugs?  Or because it has some stupid fans?  You can say that about any sport in the world, particularly English football.  They have made some good changes to the game this year that have made the games more exciting and fun to watch.  There are still some things that could be changed in my opinion, but again you can say that about any sport.  (The rules in the NFL that pretty much give the offense carte blanche for instance.)

Actually I'm loving the "New" NHL (so far anyway)

Agreed though- what's the problem with the NHL vs any other major sport league?

Shootout = st00pid

I'd rather have ties than have games decided by a gimmick.

I don't know, I've seen shootouts in the minor leagues and they are very entertaining, exciting and fun to watch.  A besides in my opinion a tie is like kissing your sister.  Not that I have a sister.   :)

Well, it happens in our NFL too. It's like the whole purpose of the game is to injure somebody so they "become" beatable.  :(

I think side hits to the lower torso and legs should be illegal. There have probably been more injuries due to side impacts than any other. I mean, if God wanted us to run sideways then he would have given a 360 degree range of motion, right?

Watching people skate around cones and shoot pucks at clay targets is entertaining too, but that doesn't mean it should have anything to do with the outcome of a hockey game.

And here I thought hockey was a team sport.
