New Starbase looking for some clothes
« on: October 23, 2005, 12:08:09 pm »
Hiya folks, I have a new base and she needs clothes, it's broken up nicely in 3d's to allow for up to 6 different textures. For viewing purpose I added a basic grey. Any help will be most appreciated.

Does it need to be UVMapped? or does it just need a good hand with photoshop?

hmmm that base either a Species 8472 (the training base that was found in delta quadrent by Voyager. or another Voyager base which was the Hirogien if this was mapped i would try my hand at it but if it isnt i cant help

Give that man a cigar ! It's a Bio-base for Species 8472. It needs some photoshop textures. I dunno what UV maps mean.
I have spots on it for 6-8 individual texture maps if needed. Right now it's bare.

UV mapping is assigning certain coordinates on a bitmap to certain areas of a model.  Basically, what Furyofaseraph is asking is have you already matched up certain regions of the model with certain regions of some grey bitmap files with the unwrapUVW modifier (assuming you are using 3ds max), or did you just apply a grey texture to the entire model.

Actually I assumed it was a variant of the Vaygr command base from Homeworld 2- not one of those obscura ships from Voyager.

Speaking of obscure bases, I happen to have seen an acurate transwarp hub and a intricate unicomplex for the borg in the works on a BC modding forum, as well. Good too see some of the one episode wonders see the light of day.

Acurate...

HEHEHE

That's WAY beyond my current texturing abilities.

I split it up into 31 parts.  So if anyone else wants a go at it just ask me, it will be much easier than using the original (which only had 6 parts I think)
