gues the real question is how much of a texture do you need?

Basic background is easy enough adding lines for deflectors will not work unless you know where to draw them
People always said they wanted the government to listen to them and now the government is listening, taking notes and names...and coming to see you soon!

I've only made textures from scratch once, so I still have a lot to learn about the process, but what I did was make basic solid-color shapes that corresponded with different areas of the ship (like a solid grey circle for a saucer) and applied them to the model.  Then I gradually added details to the textures and viewed what the changes looked like on the model.

I guess I should have been more specific. I made an entire set of new TMP hull textures from scratch. The only thing I don't know how to do is make the curved pattern on the saucer. I recall seeing a tutorial on how to do them, but couldn't find it. If anyone could explain how to make one, or has one that is just black and white, I could fill it in with the desired texture.

You using PhotoShop or PaintShop Pro?

PaintShop you have to find the plug in called MuRa Meister Pole transformation it will take a linear map and make it round.
PhotoShop has a effect built in to do this but don't remember what it is called as I use PaintShop Pro

Worse case send me the file you want rounded and I can do it for you

If you are using Photoshop ....

make a large enough "block' of the texture you are using ...  then look under "distort" ..  use the "polar coordinates" tool ..  that should give you any where from a 1/4 circle to a completed one ...  or oval shape. ( this depends upon the size and shape of the "block" you are working with.  (Ya will just have to play with it ..  I don't have it down pat enough to formulate how large or small to proportionately size the "block" to tell ya what and how it works precisely.

Hope this helps
