Klingon W'ked Class Bird of Prey

If the B'rel class is supposed to look mean then this thing should look really po'd:

I might add in some more texture details here and there but otherwise it's finished. It should be released in the next day or so (I hope).

Yes,  truly "wicked".  Any plans for the K'vort class?

A very nice model!  Obviously related to the BOP we know and love, but kinda sleeker.  Cool.

About making larger "K'Vort" versions - I say forget about scaling models up and down for various versions.  Would anybody here really wanna see a supposed "battleship" that was really just a scaled-up Constitution that was twice as long as the real thing?  Or a "frigate" that was just a scaled-down Constitution?  Now, you could build a similar model that looked as if it were designed by the same team, but was obviously much larger (or smaller), but the whole "Brel/K'Vort/D'Tai" sillines just struck me as silliness.  It was just the result of Paramount trying to save $$ on a new model in a time when they didn't want to sink any more money into TNG than they had to.  Obviously when that situation changed, they had no problems creating new models from scratch like the Prometheus class.

Just me two cents.  Didn't mean to turn your thread into a soapbox, WZ

And it really is a cool model.

Great ship.. Even better name Just one q: That head section looks like ENT's raptor / ENT's klingon cargovessel. Did you design this as a newer or as an older version of the BOP family?

What can ya say?  WZ has always been the man...
Hey WZ, do you plan on doing an excelsior or excelsior refit(especially the entb/lakota reft) any time in the future.  Yeah, I know I already have that one covered in spades, but what can I say?  I like the Excelsior...

-You mean one of these?

 Excelsior WIP

-I've had this and the E-B finished for a while, just never found the time to texture them. It might be one of my next projects though.

-The W'ked class is a TNG era post-Dominion war design which is roughly the size of a Constitution class. Once I do some specs for the SFC 3 version (not real certain just how I want this thing to be outfitted) I'll put 'er up for download.

-I'm not real sure about a K'vort variant as I share similar views about the whole scaling issues but if I'm not incredibly lazy, I may at least bring the wings up and make some minor changes for a subclass version.

The W'ked class is now online at DRS' Klingon section. I even included a set of suggested specs for the SFC 3 version along with seperate .mod files for all other SFC games.

Qa'pla!

I would have to agree with Turling. I have no desire to see another enlarged BOP. What I meant by" K'vort class " was something larger and meaner but unique to its own class.,not just a blow-up. Something that would look like a natural extension of your ideas into a larger vessel.

I really like the design.  This inspires me to make refits of my own variants of the BOP variants found in TNG, such as the K'vort and D'Tai BOPs.  Very good job WZ.

"bump"
The new pages are too small. A model from someone this good should stay on the front page longer

Looks like the advanced BOP from SFC1/SFC2. The destroyer class...

Looking good!
