"Captain Stoneyface, we are picking up a battle transmission! Audio only."
"Put it on," was my reply.
what then transpired was amazing. Blackops had stumbled upon a major battle in a very contested area of space. some details were hard to make out but at least 3 major ships and their support were in combat near a mirak stronghold. one hydran battleship was flying with our ISC partners against a major opponent in the dreadful alliance. a federation battleship was involved, it sounded like a carrier and a lyran was also with them. six esteemed captains were in a pitched battle....
"switch to our battle channel!"
here and there, battle reports were pouring in from our coalition colleagues. amazingly, there were known war criminals with bounties involved. this could be a victorious day for the empire. more and more, damage was being reported.
"helm, get us close to their location."
"aye sir."
there was no way that stoneyface would risk his romulan light cruiser by getting close to those behemoths involved, but he could get close in case someone needed reinforcements.
word came in, damage was done. the federation NCV was lost, as was one of the isc, the CSP. final reports also confirmed that the lyran cf had been destroyed. no word on whether any of the crew survived. without flankers, the federation battleship wisely retreated to fight another day. it was time to hail our partners to asses their damage and rescue those left alive.
"helm. set a course for the wreckage. we need to find our lost captain risky and get him in a new ship asap! with any luck we may be able to find some alliance survivors to interrogate."
"aye captain."
upon entering the sector, the damage was astounding. it was apparent that the alliance had already rescued their survivors, no bounty today. wreckage was strewn all across that part of space. captain Risky was found alive. he would 'pacify' another day. we may have the alliance scum on their heels yet...
"contact admiral 762 and the ISC leader. we have a report to file to our coalition brothers."
