Topic: Anybody watching the new HBO series "Rome" ? (Read 1379 times)

I saw it last night, and I must say they take mini history lessons and turn it into a great show, but it also has sex scenes, even same sex scenes, so is not for children to watch. Only an hr long too, I wish they had this stuff back in the 80's, much more enjoyable than those lame high school and college films about ancient history.

I also found last night's episaode interesting because I did some research after the show and found it was the Romans first introduction to silk.

Last night was about Ceasar and Pompey and began with the battle where Ceasar lost a major battle and could have easily been mopped up had Pompey followed the advice of his staff. History however, turned out a different destiny for these two great men, and the result was the last days of the true Roman "Republic."

I watched 15 minutes of it on two occasions, both times I was reminded of "Another World" or "Dynasty". I changed the channel.
