And if we're really onto adding stuff, why not put a rollbar where the two top sensor pods are now?

Just a thought, as a variant also. I like having the angled pylons on a Miranda-like hull :D
Those are good suggestions, but I don't really want to Miranda-ize this ship.  I absolutely love the Miranda class, but I don't really care for Miranda kitbashes.  This design interested me because it was a Miranda-like ship but did not steal any parts that can be distinctly recognized as from the Miranda class.  It's similar in size and function, but a completely different ship altogether.
As for the Shuttle bay, may I suggest having a "Landing Pad" on the top portion of the Saucer section?  I remember a few designs have this on Salidin class ships as a way to make a small Shuttle bay for Single saucer Section ships.  As as a way to increase the hull structure more, how about adding an exta "flush" deck to the AFT/Bottom section of the ship?  This would give a little extra room the the "Landing Pad" idea, and a little extra room for an Engineering section.
That's an interesting idea.  I'll play around with it and see if I can come up with anything that looks good.

Thats my feeling too it's not another Miranda..Though I do like the "Landing Pad" idea also.

Shuttlebay in top of saucer............

Deflector in bottom of saucer........

Then ya add this..................

Just some ideas for ya.

1) that could easily be textured right onto the saucer, not even worrying about the model itself.

2) i tried ot make something like that work, and it didnt quite...Maybe i should try again

3) ummm, not a fan of that, looks like a torpedo-turret-tumor. The torpedo bay in the front makes the most sense to me, and while i know a lot of you arent fond of the idea, and i understand why, it makes sense to me... However, what about lowering that bay down to where the bottom phaser banks are on the saucer, have it portrude from there? however, that would interfere with the Second Image idea.

Again, that is a possibility, but to be honest, i never liked cut-off saucers, except for the FCX, it seemed natural for that one... To each his own, its Jep's choice on what he wants to do.

Ok, I've gotten to the point where I can start working on this again.  Here's what I've changed around.

1.  I'm trying to see if a traditional shuttle bay will work well with this design by raising part of the back of the saucer.  I haven't done anything with textures yet, which is why they look stretched in the pictures.  If I go with this design, I'll definitely fix this.

2.  I've moved the torpedo launcher in between the phaser banks and the light emitter thingy on the bottom of the saucer.  I think it looks good here and it doesn't cover up the phasers so you can still use them, but if I keep this here, I'll have to redo the light maps and the textures to make it cast a shadow, which may not look very good.  I'll have to play around with it and see.

I like how this is shaping up.

It's really beginning to look possibly like a Soyuz prototype.

MP: But what is the Soyuz? A New Scout Cruiser? or as some claim, an attack frigate? Border patrol ship?

Anyway- Novel idea on the torpedo launcher! Problem is, that's going to leave a nasty shadow right across the regestry. So how about this... swap the position of the photon torpedo launchers with the front prong of the underside assembly. That way, there's still light showing down on the regestry, and the photons are still positioned there.

I've never seen bumps in the sacuer like this before. I'm curious to see what becomes of it.

Assuming for a second that he does stick with how he has the Photons now, how about repositioning the Regestries somewhere else on the Underside of the hull?  For example, how about using the old "TOS" style of Regestries Technique on the underside.  You know, where the "NCC-1701" was in two paterns (one Upside down and the other Right side up) on the Starboard and Port sides of the Primary Hull.  Maybe you could put the Regestries similar like that.

That's actually what I was thinking about doing.  I'm going to be leaving for Kansas soon for the Texas A&M vs. Kansas State football game this weekend (I'm in the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band), so I won't be able to do any more work on this until Sunday.

Personally I use it as an attack frigate but use it anyway ya like I guess, everyone has their own idea of the Trek universe  ;)

I'm at the Holiday Inn in Topeka, Kansas right now, and I really wish I had a laptop so I could work in this model.  We have a lot of free time today, but there's not much to do.  I'm not going to get back to College Station, TX until sometime this evening.  Hopefully I'll have some updates on this model either tonight or tomorrow.

By the way, we beat Kansas State yesterday.  The score was Texas A&M 30, KSU 28.

I haven't worked on this one in a while, but I decided to start working on it again.  The modeling is done.  I just need to do some photoshop work.  Does anyone have any ideas for a name and registry number?

How about this name "USS Delburne"  "NCC-S-1321"   I used an "S" in the middle to indicate a Scout ship (or whatever special role you have this ship as).

I hope you release this soon.  I'm working on a mod for SFC3 and I would really like to add your ship to it if you don't mind.   ;D

USS Silverfox it is then.  I'm at a hotel in Oklahoma right now.  I was at the Texas A&M vs Oklahoma football game earlier today as a member of the Aggie Band.  It was a good game even though we lost 36 to 30.  I'll  be back in my dorm room tomorrow evening, so I'll be able to get back to work on it then.

Hey Mr. T please take a look at this pic..............

http://www.shipschematics.net/startrek/images/federation/frigate_cerebus.jpg

I think if you incorporate the rear saucer area, and nacelle placement like in this pic, the design becomes even more interesting.
