I think it depends on the situation. I'm sure Die Hard can answer that "techno" question for you.  :smackhead:

Tomorrow, I will try the ULTIMATE test.

I will, by my own power and determination, disconnect the router and try connecting to the OP Dyna without it.

I will report my findings thusly.

To be continued........ <dramatic music>

Will Rolling disconnect her router without blowing it?
Will Rolling connect to the OP dynaverse without the firewall message?
Will Rolling wear tastey pasties?
Will Die Hard come to the rescue?

Only time will tell.......

Ok this may sound odd, but try to enable the  XP software firewall, and then disable it again.
I had times when i had to do that in order to get drafted  in the dyna, and be able to see and join a game on GS.
IT seems that under some circumstances, the xp firewall gets automaticaly enabled if you you use an external one, without  giving XP any  urge to report that it  did that.

Tried it.... sorry, but thanks.

You got to reboot after the first change.., then disable it  and check , did you do it like that?

What error are you getting when you try to connect?

If you are getting the "firewall has been detected or you are not online", then you need to reinstall the Directory Services Patch.

Get w/ me on MSN later today, Kimmy... we'll get this sorted out.

I thought I ran all of the patches after downloading.  In fact, I think this one was the one that Frey gave me over MSN and I ran it after downloading it... I think.

Kim do you have windows service packs 1 or 2 installed on your machine if so you need to go in the firewall and in the exceptions tap look for the game and place check mark in it.
