What does this mean?
« on: October 13, 2005, 06:22:49 pm »
Important Note: Make sure that the properties of your Orion Pirates
desktop shortcut shows the Target of your game pointing to the StarfleetOP.exe
file and that the Start In path is correct for your game install directory.

It means to check the "properties" of your SFC OP shortcut.

The "Target" box should point to something like "C:\Program Files\Taldren Software Inc\Starfleet Command Orion Pirates\StarFleetOP.exe" <- Notice the StarfleetOP.exe at the end, SFCOP.exe is the one that gives grief with keyboards etc.
and
the "Start in" box should have everything in the Target box except the StarFleetOP.exe at the end (still needs end quote and the \)

And I take it that we might be wanting to welcome you back to playing someday soon here?

I guess router.  I went to this virtual server thing and looked up Starfleet Command, added it, put the last digit of my ip number in the lines with the four ports, saved the changes, and it doesn't work.

DMZ A virtual zone in the router that is not protected by the Router's firewall. One computer can be placed in the DMZ.

That's it.

Get the IP address of your computer and put it on the DMZ.  Once you're on the DMZ, you should be set to play...

Just for laughs, restart the router, then restart your computer.  Sometimes you need to do that to finalize the settings etc.

I have:

Windows XP
AMD Athlon XP 1800+
1.54 GHz, 256 RAM
Bellsouth Firewall/Antivirus
Westell modem
Belkin Router
Blue Eyes
Redish going gray hair
Partridge in a Pear Tree

I installed:

SFCOP Patch 2500-2552
opplus 40 models
scripts
sfc 2 directory server updater
SGO5

I have tried opening the ports on the virtual server, enabling the DMZ thingy, disabling the Bellsouth firewall, painting my boobies green and flashing them to the screen but to no prevail.

So, I may be an endless cause.... or a causeless end, either one.

 ;)

Ok this may sound odd, but try to enable the  XP software firewall, and then disable it again.
I had times when i had to do that in order to get drafted  in the dyna, and be able to see and join a game on GS.
IT seems that under some circumstances, the xp firewall gets automaticaly enabled if you you use an external one, without  giving XP any  urge to report that it  did that.

Do you think the ones with the tassles would work better than the jeweled ones, or should I try the flavored melty kind?
