Tracey, Bonk, Frey, plz read...
« on: October 12, 2005, 01:16:31 am »
Frey, need more instructions on how to use the process sentinel. I want to turn it off to do a DB clean, but I'm not sure how to while being able to turn it back on when I'm done.

Might turn in early tonight, so if I'm not around, Bonk or Tracey, plz do a DB clean.  Tanka.

That was me doing the clean. No need to repeat it.

To close out the ProcessSentinel, just exit it from the file menu. Then shutdown the server as normal. (it is currently hanging on shutdown). To restart the server just double click the processsentinel.exe.

Frey, I'm very curious how you got the process sentinel working again. (perhaps just by leaving out the 10 second pause before restart?)

Use the version of the cleaner I left in the backup folder. (105R1)

Can't attach pics to a PM (which is a pain...)

Screens attached to this post. (Taken on The Forge on ODIN, but it is the same process.)

The issue is with the profile - saving the profile never seems to get it to work correctly.

That's why theres a "Dynaverse Assistant" text document with several values populated on the Desktop of All Users on THOR - to allow you to quickly cut and paste the values you want into the Process Sentinal. I NEVER use the Process Sentinal for anything else than keeping the server up. All the other stuff can be done via batch file manually.

Removing the profile.psp and prefs.psp if they exist, and that should solve any issues with the Process Sentinal.

Weird, because I tried exactly that after the SQL kit hung and it did not work. I have been using the profile for ages on many different servers and never had this problem. Strange...

I do not mess with the directory servers. Only if Frey is unavailable to restart them will I do so, and that is all.   >:( <mean face>  >:(

edit: but indeed it does seem they are down, I cannot get the serverlist either...
