Who is Tyrel Lohr?!? (bit of a Battleclinic Rant)
« on: October 07, 2005, 02:25:01 pm »
Okay, this has been bothering me for quite some time.

Who is Tyrel Lohr?

According to Battleclinic he/she is the author of dozens of models, most of which are obvoiusly not theirs.

I mean, its great that they are willing to upload models for the benefit, but it bothers me that they credit themselves as the authors of the model. If you wrote the history, wonderful, then say "History: Whoever", or "Uploader: Whoever".

Furthermore - Why do people use screenshots from the movies as a render of the model? that makes no sense, how are we supposed to be able to tell wether that Excel is p81's first, his second, or his third, or GAFY's retexture of the second, or GAFY's retexture of the 3rd...

IIRC he does SFB ship stat sheets like ADB and the Phd shipyards, and shipedits existing models to represent these SFB ships. It's like when one of us designs a model based on SFB stats, he does it the other way,  does the stats and uses existing models to create unique ship varients. I've seen a few people doing that. I think it's kinda cool. Just another way to contribute to the Trek universe.  ;D.
