"Why" is so people who were on at 3am flipping hexes don't feel like it was for nothing.

and what about the half dozen who spent the morning for the alliance before this posting flipping it back?

DV editing: The map dv edits for PvP kills will not happen every 7 days. Instead, we will use the same points system allowing each side to use them in order to 'simulate' the capture of an enemy VC. PvP kill DV Points will be added up and the difference will be used by the winning side to see if they have enough to stretch their DV's far enough into enemy space to 'score' a VC. Exact details later. The map wont change, but the VC will be awarded should that side have enough to capture the planet given the defense of the current DV's there.

This seems silly to me, you could actually lose a planet that no enemy came within several hexes of on the actual map under this system.  I suggest rethinking this one a bit.

Tobin, why are you trying to make this about A v C? I just asked if he could port the map.

There will be a new shiplist because I deleted some unwanted ships, but most everything else most likely will stay the same.

This is not needed, just delete them server-side.

They will be identical. Client and serverside will match even tho it has worked in the past being different.

New shiplist  D/L tomorrow.

That is not needed, the Donors need to be removed from the Server-side anyway.

If you can avoid putting people through another download, you should.

"put people through"? You'd think it was painful.  ;)

We have modified the donation structure to the SFB-OP model. It is no longer necessary to remove the donors serverside, in fact it is preferable not to. It is related to script ship creation methods. Tracey can explain it better, but trust me on this one. The result is less buggy missions and the ability to use EEK missions.

Also, bear in mind that it only takes ~40 seconds to download the installer again whille it takes me about 40 minutes to upload it. Worse, it takes over 2 hours to upload the zip files for those who refuse to use the entirely more efficient and reliable installer. (though this time it would only be the shiplist zip which would a much shorter upload)

Please continue as you guys are, because it is all good, and if DieHard has an issue with a small download perhaps he does not need it, but the rest of us will use it  ;)

I am working on the flatfile setup this morning, so Dizzy and Tracey stay clear of the server till I let you know. (I'm locked out of my remote session right now - possibly because one of you is logged in?)

Wasn't me... I logged in yesterday (middle of the night your time) to restart it, took a look at the process sentinel but didnt have any luck. I then posted that the server was back up. It stayed up for about 10 minutes, then crashed again. I logged back in again, serverkit was completely shutdown as if it had just closed. I restarted it, it ran for maybe an hour then crashed again, at which time I think Dizzy logged in and restarted it. Havent been logged in to it since.

Thanks Tracey, I worked it out, it was just a bugged session. I reset it from another server.

Weird about the process sentinel eh?

How exactly doe the DB get dirty in SQl?  From what I remembered, AI opbejcts didn't get stuck when I was screweing around with this stuff about a year ago.

I did turns AIs off though . . .
