SFC2.net issue
« on: October 05, 2005, 03:08:17 pm »
Anyone else having problems there?

I tried to look at the SGOV Coaltion threads & discovered that I can't see all the messages...

Seems I can only see the last 'reply', i can't even see the original post for some of them.

Bonk posted around here somewhere that he's doing work on the forum DB still, and that they might be wacked for now...

Hold up, I'm getting the same thing but only on a few of the posts. Not all of them.

No I don't need your login info now, thanks, I see the issue as well.

How may posts in total are missing? Are they critical or a lot of work to replace? Are any other forums affected? Is there something consistent about the affected threads?

If it is critical that we have the old posts back or if many threads in other forums are affected I suppose we'll have to go back to the old forums version and db,  :(  ...unless I can figure this out.

well, the only one I have checked in recent weeks has been the SG5 Coalition area...

I can see threads with a certain post count but when I open the thread, I only see the last reply, if there is no reply, I don't see the original post.

From what I have checked so far, it only seems to be in that forum though.

I just noticed your handle there includes a "/=SOV=" or something like that... was that just for this server? I'm thinking that might be the issue... Can you make a test post under that name? What happens if you change it to remove the funky characters? Perhaps only threads where you posted with that handle are affected?

Thanks, OK that's not it...

The ISC forum doesnt look right either... 12 topics 0 posts?

Gimmie a bit to see if I can find the reason for this and fix it. If I can't in a reasonable time, I'll simply restore the old db and version.

So don't post all your big battle plans just quite yet...

Dammit...so close...  >:(

I guess the MySQL Migration Toolkit still needs work.  :(

I'll restore the old db and forums version for SFC2.Net.

I need to be free to work on SGO5. I forgot something on the test server...

I'll try this again with the next release of the MySQL Migration toolkit perhaps.
