SFC 3 mission question--where's the action?
« on: September 28, 2005, 03:01:39 am »
In the SFC 3 Klingon mission where you have to wait at Unity Station for Captain Picard to get back---does anything ever happen?  Does Picard ever come back?  I waited around for what seemed like forever and not a thing happened?  Is this a glitch I need to use the patch for, or am I simply not being patient enough?

(Cloak!  Then point and laugh.)

I seem to recall a cloaked ship in one of those missions that never comes out of cloak, even when you mine him to death?

I read a mission walk-through on SFC3.net that tells me Unity Base is supposed to alert me to something in the asteroid field.  Later there is supposed to be another couple of ships to fight off as well.  I waited 10-15 minutes and nothing at all happened.  Even the Federation ship on station with me sits motionless.  Am I simply not being patient enough.

Also, the MFD seems to be screwed up on this mission.  After I transport the ambassador, I cannot figure out how to bring up the "fire" button on the main panel.  Pressing the "1" on my keyboard, which normally brings up all disruptors, will only, and ONLY, give me the transporter station.  How can I get back to the "fire" button again?

Sorry to be such a pain, but I have a large wodge of technofear stuck in my throat.

man It's been awhile since I played through the whole campaign, Let me play through It this afternoon and see what I did. I know I've won the campaign before, so there has to be a way, But I don't recall ever waiting 10-15 minutes on any of the missions.

I think I've got it figured out--at least as far as a bug or something.  Rather than use the big main button for the transporters to beam the ambassador, I used the little one inside the ship outline display.  After that I was able to access both the "fire" button and the mission carried on as normal.  So, either it's just a raondom glitch or something special about my steam driven bit box.

Thanks tons everyone for helping with my doofy tech problems.   ;D

You have to beam over the ambassador. The station then raises it's shields and the mission progresses.
The Star Spangled Banner bring hither,
O're Columbia's true sons let it wave.
May the wreaths they have won never wither,
Nor it's stars cease to shine on the brave.
