most of the texturing is done.  All that is needed are the windows ...  and light maps

What class of ship fits in those yards? Is this supposed to be larger than the 001 style spacedocks we see in such episodes as where the binars steal the D?

If  ya notice the divider in each ...   You can fit a Galaxy class on each side (width wise ) ...  and two Sovereigns .. (length wise) .

The dock doors will allow two Galaxy class to pass through (staggered an aprx 45^ angle).

Yeah  ...   she's a biggie !  The idea is to be completely self sufficient and for deep space out posts only.  So, realistically, there would only be a handful of these made (at best).

We also did away with most of the tower antennae simply because of the advancement of technology.  ( they would would either be no longer necessary, or combined such that fewer are needed.)

I've messed up with a stupid head cold the last week.  Progress is a bit slower than expected.  But we are getting there.

Ooooooooooooo you can fly through it ? JOYGASM even if it really does nothing for actual game play, that's damn fun in my book  ;D. F_W and I have one that you'll be ablt to fly into and see ships inside the dock, in various stages of repair and such. Ya know Miles might be interesting if you could fly around the entire interior and fly back out another door.  ;)

hmmm  I originally thought about at least a partial drive through .....  but that could be a bit rough on the poly count (to say the least).

Dude ....  I can imagine the details inside !

You can use PS for the actual map, but to apply to the model you need max or MS3D. Looks great Buzz!! ;D

I'm a little confused, you said a Single Galaxy can fit inside those Dry Docks on the outside or 2 soverigns aswell.  Does the center section of the Dry Dock Grid fold up or something?

I like the design, very well thought out.   :)

BTW...  anyone realize how many windows are on this thing !

EEEEEEEEK  !

( this may take a while!)

Maybe maybe not!

Make a pattern of windows or two and then just paste them serval times and combine those layers, fast and easy. Once you have those done they copy that layer to a black background and you have your light map. on a more complex light map add it as a layer.
People always said they wanted the government to listen to them and now the government is listening, taking notes and names...and coming to see you soon!
