Very impressed, as it is truely a leap ahead for console systems.  Say what you want, but Nintendo knows how to experiment with new technology.

That looks very different... It seems to me it would be tough for me to transition from an NGC controller to that... Now, if only I could dish up some money for that when its released...

It's a definite change, but not nearly as drastic as it first appears.  You can still play older style games with ease, and it also serves to open a whole realm of possiblities for new types of games.

I think FPS games are finally going to be viable on a console for us PC users.  It could actually be easier to control than the old fashion mouse and keyboard method.

I wouldnt doubt that an availible extention will be a converter to plug in a gamecube controller or something like that.

I like the idea of the controller, but want the option to use a more 'standard' controller if possible.

Looking forward to Revolution - especially if the rumor that older SNES/NES games will be availible 'streaming downloaded'

The Revolution is supposed to have ports for Gamecube controllers on the actual console itself.  There hidden behind a door on some part of the console.

The modular format of the controller is quite cool, and I'm so looking forward to being able to download and play old school games on it.

That controller seems wacked.  If they don't have a way to hook up an old controller (saying they even allow backwards compatibility with GC, which I hear it is supposed to along with a Gameboy cartridge port) then I'm really wary.  I can see all the advantages, with shooting games, action games, and other such things, but at the same time...well...it's a remote control.  What's next, configuring you HP calculator, or even your TV remote control to be an alternate controller for it?

 I agree Dash !! Its too small like the rest of theirs and it makes my hands cramp up. and the buttons are too close to each other.

I remember reading about an old Atari 2600 controller that never reached the stores that was actually supposed to do this (well, sort of and not the Russian part).  You placed it on your forehead and controlled it with slight muscle movements in your forehead.  It never hit the stores because the demo models gave people headaches and it was really hard to control well.

Just for the record, Nintendo isn't being generous. You're going to be paying for all those old NES/SNES games. The current setup is to see how much the download system is used, and up the price as it gets more popular. Fun, eh?

I figured as much.  I've noticed that they make a huge fuss whenever they find a site that hosts Nintendo game ROMs and try to shut them down.

Huge isn't the word. They found a picture of Mario on suicidegirls.net (NOT safe for work or children) and sent a cease and desist. Nintendo corporate headquarters quickly realized that move and revoked the order, but still, the policy shows.

Saw a TV show once about a fellow who had an apparatus to steer his yacht with brainwaves, it was pretty cool.

It has also been proven (at least satisfactorily to me) that the human mind can directly influence random electronic events.

Hmmm, I think I might test this myself... easy enough to do. With the proper feedback the mind can be trained to do all kinds of unexpected things.

Well I set up a test, here:

and over 33 trials (thinking of 0) my average was 50 so it appears there is no effect on remote electronic systems.
But I'd be curious to see a few more datasets.

I'll put together a similar test to run on the local machine, which one would think would have a better chance.

Well, hmm, the first 10 tries had it about 8 times at 1 and 2 times at 0 with me thinking of 1.  The number of times 1 went up got higher each time.

I got distracted after that, and it sort of balanced out between them, with the all time low at 35.

Perhaps it's something, though if it is, I shouldn't get distracted, lowers me from thinking about a 1.

I only tried it once and wasn't really taking it seriously, but I thought of .5 and the total was 50.  Kinda creepy, huh?
