I know you're doing it just for fun, it is amusing, but a bit weird too...  ;D

No need to send pics, I'm on slow dial-up anyway...

Today I gotta look at rebuiling an old Pentium 233, troubleshoot a Compact Flash to PCMCIA adapter in a Compag notebook for use with a Globalsat GPS, work on the battles reporting interface on The Forge for use on the upcoming SG-SQL and maybe squeeze in a nap too if I'm lucky... so it might be a bit... and I did tell Kurok I'd take a look at his DSL modem first... (a while back, in PMs).

But I am curious to work this out and would be happy to see you login to the D2 successfully, plus I'll learn something out of it too...

NP, I usually go out on sundays anywho, so take your time since I won't be back until later this evening.  Besides, aby and all help is welcome and appreciated, even if you reject big luscious bewbies.

Or fix this hole in a mother's son?
Can you heal the broken worlds within?
Can you strip away so we may start again?
Tell me, can you heal what father's done?
Or cut this rope and let us run?
Just when all seems fine, and I'm pain free, you jab another pin,
Jab another pin in me

bah, forgot to paste the link.  Hate to admit it, but this is a bit out of my league:
http://discussions.info.apple.com/webx/.68999f2d/1

OK, port mapping (port forwarding) is out as the Airport Extreme only accepts a maximum of 20 single port forwarding entries (no ranges from what I can tell). SFC2/Directplay7 requires ports 2300-2400, 47624.

BUT, it looks as though there is a DMZ (demilitarized zone) option that Apple has called the "Default Host" option.

That will be what you have to use. "This is found in Base Station Options."

To avoid explaining how to configure your LAN IP address statically (though you should to use this option properly):

Determine your local IP address: do this by typing "ipconfig" at the command prompt (Start...All Programs...Accessories...Command Prompt), under the "Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection" section look up your "IP Address" and note it.

Use the "AirPort Admin Utility" and under "Base Station Options" enter the IP address you noted above under the "Default Host" option.

Be aware that you may need to redo this everytime you reboot the computer as you may have a diffferent local IP address assigned by the DHCP server on the Airport. But you might also find you consistently get the same IP address from the Airport and won't need to change the "Default Host" setting.

If you get this to work successfully, then you can later look at the DHCP server settings on the Airport to see the IP address range it is using, then configure your SFC PC with a static LAN IP Address outside the DHCP range of the Airport but on the same subnet, then set this IP Address to be the "Default Host" (DMZ)... the right way to do this.

Also, note that the firewall on the Airport makes the McAfee firewall redundant. But if you set your SFC PC as the "Default Host" it will no longer be behind the Airport firewall (a good thing while playing SFC) and you will want to either re-enable the McAfee firewall when not playing or reset the "Default Host" setting on the Airport to the default when you are finished playing SFC online.

Clear as mud?

edit: Oh yeah, make sure the Airport will accept pings from the WAN side too...

Kurok, let me know if your local IP address matches the DMZ entry at your DSL modem and we'll go from there...

it sure does. what i think i need to do is set my internal adress to some thing out side of the nat range sop that when i disable it i can acess the internet.  the manual says that if my adress is lets just make something up 200.200.0.0 i wont be able to acess the internet.Does this mean that if i set my internal ip to something like 200.200.0.20 that i will be able to acess the internet still and disable my nat( thinking that is the problem) what is happening (I think) is when im trying to connect to someone it is sending my public adress and not my internal one even tho  i have my modem set to dmz
. As you can probably tell im new with routers and dsl modems so i could be way off base here. I m realy starting to  miss the cable modem i had a couple of years ago I was just a modem nothing else.
any help is apreciated.

Ok --

I remember when I first went from 56K to DSL -- i had the same issue where I could no longer connect to play SFC2.
I dont know if your running windows 98? but I was at the time (for that matter still am running 98SE) anyways with my DSL connection I had to go in and change one damn setting -- for the life of me I cannot remember what it is - one of the Bell Sympatico guys (and yes bell did bitch at me that they dont support game playing -- Hell isnt that why we all got high speed internet?? ) anyways he suggested I go in to the start run --
and type in _____ on

Then it worked -- I cannot remember exactly what program it was -- but if your running 98 that might be your problem phone your ISP and explain whats going on -- don't let them tell you they dont support gaming because over 80% of us have high speed just to play games -- and get a tech to help..

Sorry I cant be more exact it goes back about 5 years ago now..
