late night follies.
« on: August 31, 2005, 07:35:05 am »
so...im screwing aroudn with my linksys router last night... and well, i turned off the DNS in it..

now, i cant get back in the damn thing...the usual 192.168.x.x into IE wont let me get into the settings of the router, and i have no internal ip addy's being issued (obviously)

i cant think that linksys would make it so if you turn off the DNS, that you cant back in and turn it back on..
help!

model router: BEFSR11

have tried power cycle, that does not clear the settings...

Anychance you can use the set up disk that came with the Router to Re-establish your settings? Do you have a prior back up with Windows you can try? There's gotta be a way to turn the DNS back on.

Check for a reset-to-factory hole somewhere - paperclip should fit inside.

Havent researched model, but there should be one of those - just for situations like these

I think you mean the DHCP... configure your lan adapter statically and you should still be able to see the router no problem.
