OK, I'll get it back up.  I'm working overtime this weekend, so it will take me about 30 minutes or so to get back home.

VNC or remote desktop could save you another trip next time! ;)

Back up!

I've used VNC in the past, and you are right.  It's a great thing.  But work has strict rules about installing things on our computers.  They wouldn't be happy if I started using VNC from there.

In this case, it wouldn't matter.  It seems my computer had spontaneously rebooted and was waiting at the login screen.  I'm not sure why this happened, and it does worry me a bit.

Understandable that work wouldn't like VNC installed (I suppose it was the obvious solution anyway).

Got this windows security fix installed?

Also, I'm not sure this has ever been addressed, or determined if it applies:

Its back down. Also could you look into making the news stop spamming? And the DVs not changing when u complete a mission correctly? Also is there any reason why it seems to have trouble winging with people?

I was about to head home anyway.  It'll be back up in about 30 minutes.

Wasn't having that DV problem before, we'll see if it is still happening once the server starts again.

The news is "spamming" because I seperated the Imperial econs, but neglected to seperate the pirate ones.  There isn't much I can do about that I don't think.  Look on the bright side:   when you place a base, the news item will vanish faster.

Not sure about the winging problem.  Anyone else having this?

The server is back up.

Watch to see if the only misison with DV issues is the listening post, as mentioned with Dfly.  If that is it, I could just pull that mission.  (I never really liked that mission anyway.)

but not fair, it can be done in under 3 minutes no matter what race you are, and you want to pull it? ::)

LOL!  Well, what good is doing it in under three minutes if it doesn't change the DV?

If it isnt' the problem, we can keep it.  If it is the problem, then keeping it doesn't do anyone any good.

Well then, I'll leave it up to you guys.  If it causes problems often enough that you want the mission pulled, then I'll pull it.  If you really like the mission, I'll leave it in.

Misison results aren't something that I can affect.  There are no dialable parameters with which I can affect their behaviour.   My only option would be to install C++ again and create my own replacement mission script.  (Or bribe someone else to do it for me.)  That is possible for the future, but I can't do it during the coarse of this server.  My only options are to either leave the mission as is, or pull it.  This isn't a server designe feature, it's just a bugged mission, so I've no problem doing either.

Since player fun is my primary objective I will let the players decide.
