One interesting thing I noticed last night......
A glitch appeared in my controls last night for the Lyrans. As a consequence of the way I'm donating and using PF hulls, once the Lyran PFL launced the Fi-Con PF it was carrying, the Fi-Con appeared as a starship in the Fleet Control screen! It also still showed as a fighter icon in the shuttle UI screen. I was able to issue orders to the ship by using either method.
I don't remember this happening before. I thought it was rather cool.
I noticed this about 5 minutes before I had to sleep or die, so I have not had a chance to fully explore the issue yet. However I wanted to point it out now, so that there would be plenty of noctice just in case I am able to duplicate this for all stowed PFs. I think I understand why it happened, and I think I can duplicate it for all PFs for all races.
I suspect I made a typo in the shiplist, and that the stowed Fi-Con and the purchasable Fi-Con both have the "s" prefix to their name. (The stowed version was supposed to have the "v" prefix.) I suspect that the "frigate" version is in the list first, and that is the one that loaded when I launched my "fighter". Or maybe this is just a consequence of having PF's stowed as fighters. Either way, I'll try to make this happen for everyone.
Then you could control your entire squadron -- all six boats -- at once from the Fleet screen. Which as they say back on
Triskelion, is worth a lot of quatloos.
