5) Someone (or many people) was/were wroking on Andros a while back- did they ever get to be working? (he asks innocently...)
Had two prototype EEK GAW missions that included tholian "web" and Andro "dis-dev" features (in early stages) that were in use on SFB-OP. It was concluded though that without PA panels that purists would not consider them Andromedans. Work has been shelved.
I've always wanted to do 2 dyna campaigns and only 2 in OP.
ISC Invasion start date 2273, end Date 2285
followed by the
Andro Invasion start date 2286 end Date 2293.
I moved the dates a little off SFB timeline so that we pull the Andros. out of Advanced Era, and the ISC have max. impact on the other races by invading in their shiplist sweet spot (ie. early to mid. Middle Era).
What I really want is a working SQL Server kit to do them on. Then I would move ahead with the scripting work.
Only issue with Andros are the PA Panels. I think Rod proposed using lotsa batteries and low shield strength on this ships.
DisDev's are pretty much a done deal. It's the web-castor that was giving me fits, so I did the web snare as a consolation prize. I just left the current GAW prototypes with tac. warp cuz it's so cool. If you think about it DisDev's are just a very limited version of tac. warp.
Once full-blown tac. warp is implemented then seeking weapons are rendered useless, and you are now in the TNG era. So, tac. warp usage in any Lost Era dyna has to be carefully scrutinized. You gotta have something primitive on some prototype flagships, but nothing that works like in SFC3.
The way I see it Advanced Era (start date 2293) is the start of the Lost Era and it lasts for about 40 years. SFC3 era starts around the time the Cardies first conquer Bajor around 2230. By 2230, you have full-blown Tac. warp, Phaser 9s and 10s, plasma bolts, Ion cannons, etc. Plus, all the seeking weapons are rendered obsolete cuz you can micro-warp jump away from them at anytime.
