Kelsey Grammer Playing Beast in X-Men 3 Movie

Variety has confirmed that Kelsey Grammer is going to play the role of Hank McCoy (Beast) in X3.

According to Variety Frasier star Kelsey Grammer is going to play everyone's favorite blue-furred mutant in X3.

While Grammer might seem a surprise to play a 355-pound blue-colored brute, producer Avi Arad said, "Kelsey was born to play the role," explaining that Beast is the most intelligent of the mutants, a pacifist Ph.D. and genetic researcher named Hank McCoy.
"This is a big role in the new movie, and when we met with him, you can see that Kelsey has that you'd-better-have-a-dictionary-handy intelligence," said Arad, who's producing with Lauren Shuler DonnerLauren Shuler Donner and Ralph WinterRalph Winter.

Stay tuned to CBM for the latest....

I love Fasier. One of the best written, best acted, mature-minded (meaning it skipped bathroom humor to do intellegent humor) ever to hit television.

I have season 1,2,3,4 and the Final on DVD.

I agree, Frasier was great.  It will be interesting to see what they do with the Beast.  They're take on Nightcrawler was great, imo, so hopefully they'll continue to do a great job with adapting the characters to the films in a somewhat meaningful way.  Will he be the furry beast I wonder?  Will he be "human" in the beginning and transform during the course of the film?  Will they just say he was born blue and furry and has never appeared human?  (I hope the latter doesn't happen).  I haven't been following the line on this film, unfortunately.

That's an excellent pick for Beast, I think.  So far their casting has been dead-on...looks like it's staying that way.

Wasnt Niles in the bathroom when the shaving cream warmer exploded and they thought he had shot himself? Thats bathroom humor.  ;)

I vaguely remember that episode...

One of my favorites (oh lord there are so many) is The Matchmaker. The scene in the kitcken when Tom asks Nile about Frasier is some of the best executed and written classic misdirection/revelation comedy to hit television in years.
