Anyone interested in a Western Powers (Feds,Klinks,Lyran,Kzin- dunno about Hydran) "border war" server?

Idea would be to put PF's in the shiplist as purchasable ships
Largest non-pf would likely be a DWL (no tenders)

PF's would be fleetable, ships would not.

Was thinking a smaller type map, no planets (if possible-not sure about spawn) only bases .
(Which would be destrucable)

Here's an idea. Run a server with no federation race. I'd like to fly someother race and not feel guilty about abandonning the understaffed feds.

Well LCW and KCW won't have any Feds (although DH did send me a PM about one F-DNH being allowed ... )
I'd also like to do a Klink vs Lyran server but I'm not sure about the interest

I think a PF server would be fun (was there one before? Herr Burt maybe?) but the PF's are hard to balance

Any plasma one is superb
Fed ones are great
Klink ones seem decent
as do the Kzin
Lyran ones are not really a match (AI wise)
and I have no idea how the Hydran stack up -they look decent to me but
I seem to recall someone tell me they're terrible.
(A four powers-PF war might be kinda amusing)

I actually figured if you have the leader PF "carry" two generics into battle and buy one special and one generic to
fly you could have a flotilla of 5 (for those of you who can't count) and the repair thing wouldn't be an issue
as only the leader one would be able to do it.

Or have I read this all before..

Suggetion. Look at the Pfs, and BALANCE them per race. I would love to see perhaps a 1 or 2 week PF server, with nothing above say, 60 bpv. Make it a short, fun, PvP server, where the smaller, the better, type thingy. I hate to even think that perhaps Hexx has an actuall Idea(Dfly shudders, then runs away before anyone can realize he said this)

Human-controled Hydran PFs would be fine.

Yep, I ran Squadron Commander last fall. It didn't get a big turnout, but I don't know if that was the concept or the timing at work. (We may get a chance to find out..... real soon.)

In my opinion, all off the PF's worked fine, except the Lyrans. I tried to balance the Lyrans by giving them the ability to field bigger squads (7 instead of 5) and giving them free access to fi-cons with drone-bearing fighters. But I still think they came up short.

You can ask Likker. I think he stuck it out with Lyrans through thick and thin.

No I know the Lyran PF's are the weak one's of the bunch
(another SFB legacy ) but I'm not sure how to fix them
I was considering having the other races have one leader but permitting the Lyrans 2.
Phaser 1's would be nice to, but I can see DH having a hissy fit.

The only problem I'm really concerned about is the leader PF - it's not that hard to kill
one PF if you set your mind to it, and with Photons and Hellbores/ Fusions they'll die even faster.
