Yes the new MSVC++ compiler is much improved and free.  :)

However it looks like the scrpting API lib files would need to be updated as well, which would require the client source.  :(  I got all the API source files updated to compile under VC8 and updated a test stock script but the linker gave a bunch of errors when it came time to link ScriptInterfaceR.lib. Oh well, it was worth a try.

Correction: the code and project to compile the ScriptInterfaceR.lib library is in the API. Strat and I are taking a crack at it now.

Getting some PP weirdness..as in not geting any...ran a couple assaults with a rommie wing and got no pp even though the de breifing screen said I got 1000 +...it never showed in my account even though my wing got his....

Weird.

Also an EEK mission quirk, though it seems to only occur on SQL servers that update the nextobject ID in the database without delay. But I also saw an NW mission do this recently, so I think it is an SQL quirk, but stock missions do not seem to show this problem. As noted above, I am thinking I will pull the EEK missions as well. Stock and TG missions will be OK.

EEK missions pulled based on feedback. Database cleaned. Missions installer updated. (may not be necessary to download if your stock scripts are intact and you have the latest TG missions).

The Klingons are running away with it, they currently have a significant lead! Get off yer butts Alliance! Understandably though, I imagine many are practicing for KCW which promises to be a real furball!  ;D

Yeah,

I looked at the webmap yesterday and saw the what the nastly klingons have done.

With the KCW comming up I haven't had time to play.  There was a good battle going on there for a little bit.  But now with the KWC a couple of us alliance guys have taken a break from the Forge.

But those klingons don't care....
They couldn't take on an even fight anyways....  :o

The fact is, they NEED the head start.... :P

If only all the other Forge Klingons were so honorable...

I am kind of discouraged about being so outnumbered on a server.

I'd work for entire days to just defend the Alliances from the Coalition, and in 4 hours 5 klingons, 2 ISCm and a ROM are on and mess it all up.

Take heart, I've been doing my part... trying to hold off pilots flying two dreadnaughts with my MDC+... and I'm doing a pretty good job if I do say so myself! Its good to have lots of enemies, I enjoy an uphill battle.

Since the buggy missions have been pulled over the last week, the forge has become way to easy. As much as I've been urged by my fellow klinks (lord knows I can afford it) I refuse to fly fleets or anything bigger than my trusty old D5, but have managed to royally mess up the feddies in their space. Stop crying about it and fight back !!!

Sheesh, humans are such weenies

Please note that the EEK missions were not pulled because of bugs but because they were too difficult for Lyrkiller flying as a Rom.  (I will admit that EEK missions are far more doable in drone armed ships than in plasma boats.)

Nothing meant by it, just a comment to clarify.

And yes, humans are such weenies!  ;D

edit: perhaps I'll crank up the server difficulty to Admirial to compensate somewhat...

It's boringly easy now.... ::)
Although I don't miss the EEK missions pulling X-Ships as enemy AI...
There's always the idea of getting a wing if you're having trouble handling the missions alone.
Especially if you're in a Plasma Boat.  ;)
Get a hold of me and I'll wing with ya Lyr, anytime... ;D

Holy crap! the Coalition is running amok on the map! Its looking dire for the Aliiance....  :o

I am testing a setup on The Forge today that might result in higher DV shifts for PvP (shift of 3 for PvP and a shift of one for AI).

Somone wanna login and help me test it out in a few minutes?

edit: nope, not quite there yet on PvP DV shifts, but getting close....

Whoa...
maybe they were just making it red and green for Christmas?

Seriously though. That's a litttle lopsided from looking at the map.
