Did not notice, I was uploading scripts (can only do one thing at a time on my connection), I assume something must be happening at Xenocorp.net. I will check on it.

I am going to update the scripts now (as soon as the server is available)

RE bases:

Fed base BPVs are comparable to base BPVs for other races.

I finally got around to skimming the shipyard source code, I learned some very interesting things.

Base production does not depend on the production of smaller ships as I expected.

The BuildBaseFrequency setting in the economy gf has the opposite effect of what I thought.

Shipyards in general, build more ships for a race when more players of that race are logged in.

What it build depends on what is already in the possesion of players for that race.

There is a built in "racial flavour" such that some races have a hardcoded advantage in ship productions.

These are major revelations for me! I will later summarise in the Server Admin forum what I have discovered.

I do some programming myself and share that excitement after finally looking at the code.

Seeing all kinds of tid bits of how a program works is fun, at least to me.

Now you REALLY know how to set the shipyard. lol

Funny how they hardcoded racial bias.

lol, code analysis does have a strange appeal...

Maintenance is underway on The Forge's server, Frey is updating stuff. I'll reconfigure the missions and shipyard and restart The Forge shortly, Frey should be done working on it soon...

Server is back up. Scripts updated:

And hopefully you'll start seeing bases in your shipyards.

Edit: I'm getting quite adept at producing a missionlist blob between my hex editor and excel now, can probably apply it to the flatfile as well for mid server missionslist changes.

Grrrr, I'll crank it up another step... to the absolute max this time.

There were five bases in the Mirak yards last I logged on... cranking it more and all we'll have is bases... I siuspect this is that hardcoded racial bias I mentioned above, the Klinks and Mirak will get plenty of bases and big ships everyone else will get virtually none. Grrr... Tracey and I just might fix that in the code.

Base prodcution is at the absolute max and when I look in the database I only see bases in the Klingon and Mirak Yards, as I suspected. (6 bases in each). That hardcoded modifier in the serverkit source is definitely having an effect here. I'll look at rebuilding the kit with that changed so that all races have an equal "racial flavour"...

Yup, that did it, I jsut checked the database, there are at least two bases in all the empires yards now.
