Squadron Commander II: Winding Down
« on: September 10, 2005, 06:42:30 pm »

SCII is set to end this Sunday at midnight.  If you want your chance to command six starships at once in high-speed combat where getting hit = getting dead, then log on now!

I'll likely turn it off on Sunday and start counting the points on Monday.

I know some people have made some kills -- because they have told me they have -- but those kills have not been reported.  Log them here:

If you don't post it, I can't count it!

I hope this has been fun for those that tried it, or at least something very different from what you are used to.  Likely I'll work several of the concepts into a more general-purpose campain in the future.  Thanks to all who played!!

Excellent!

If I may so bold...I'd really like to see such an area (restricted to PF flotilla's) that also allowed people to fly single starships in at least part of that zone.......like maybe frigates and destroyers?

Something comparable to an average flotilla......for peeps who dont care for multiple ship handling....

I'd also suggest some VC's in those areas...

I had a blast. Didnt play it all that much... mb ran about 30+ missions had a bit of PvP... I dont think it caught mass appeal because its so different and not many understand what its all about so they didnt give it a try. And that's too bad too cuz its a blast. The only thing I didnt like about it was that not too many peeps played it... If they had, I woulda been on much more...

Herr Burt, it was a fun server for me. Thx for all your efforts. And technically, I'm stealing a few things. ;) Nice job on that front too.

Might want to leave it up as a fun server to run along with the forge till the next server is ready to test or play... Just a thought.

I was thinking the same thing for KCW.. problem is (and i think Scip mentioned it somewhere) is that it's not difficult for many ships (of DD size and above)
to pop a PF- and with the leader killing one PF ca actually mean killing 2 or 3.

Thanks for your kind words.  That means a lot to me.  Anything that anyone takes from my campaigns is also a compliment.  I look forward to seeing what you do with it.

I enjoyed it too. Got to take a nice chunk of Mirak space, blew 17Kpp on building a neutral base(don't ask) and got to fly a little bit with other people. I just wish I had gotten to fly against someone.

enjoyed it.  Had a blast flying 7 ships at a time for a while,  dont ask.   coulda done a combo with 12 ships, perhaps I shoulda tried it for the fun of it.  Only difficulty was that after 6 ships, the screen gets really small, and you lose control of the bottom one on the list as the mouse glitches over it, but that only meant more ships to try to watch.  I was able to do a couple PvP early on, but never seemed to be on when the enemy was on.

I didn't get a lot of time in on it, but I had fun when I was on and thought it was pretty darn cool!   Thanks for another awesome server Herr Burt!
