Sounds like you are missing the PF model.  Check your folder to be sure there is a model in it.

MIRV submunitions are warp seekers.  They don't lose lock to cloak once they blossom.  (Yes, they exist in SFB.)

Thx DH. S'Cipio, this game not SFB and cloak don't work like it does in SFB so why should this be any different. Not trying to be an ass but this item alone puts ALL Rom ships at a very lopsided disadvantage when it comes to droners and fighters,as this is supposed to be our defence against clouds of drones in this game.

I couldn't agree more about the cloak thing. I guess every game has it's quirks, as I'm much too used to SFB cloak rules and when I see weirdness in other trek game It's a bit confusing. Just look at the cloak in Bridge commander- Ships are treated as literally going invisible to everything else, whereas in SFB cloaks are treated more as a visual-only invisibility and most other sensors are uneffected.

I understand you are not trying to be an ass.  I am not either; I'm just trying to explain the way things are and how they got that way.

The cloak works the way it was programmed.  There is nothing to be done about that.  The SFB reference was made simply to explain why the programmers did things the way they did.  In the last patch Dave Ferrel did his level best to make the SFC cloak finally work (almost) as well as the SFB cloak does.  There are still a few glitches, but these days it pretty darn close.  I don't think it will work against submunitions, and I don't think it ever did.  I don't think it was intended to.

Does this give the Roms a problem when facing swarms of drones?  Yep!  And the Gorn too.  We've got a few more phasers, you've got a lot more plas-D ships.

Insufficient drone defense (since they weren't built with drone defense in mind) has always been a problem for the plasma boats whenever eastern and western powers fight each other.  (But in return, we eastern powers look much more handsome than them, so I guess they needed some kind of compensation)

Rest assured the other plasma races feel the sting as much as you do.

Yes, if you absolutely insist.

It's not a DN, BCH, X-ship, or one of th those "my have" ships that everyone flies.   Heck, this isnt even the best Romulan PFT by a longshot.

If you absolutely insist, I will post a new shiplist tonight that corrects this problem.

And the Kzin ships were not made to defend against plasma boats that can chuck over their shoulders at speed 31 and rearm, nor to land slow drones on plasma D ships  :P  The SFB based shiplist just isn't very good on a server with non traditional alliances and non traditional map setups, for true balance a major overhaul might be necessary throwing the SFB cannon materials in the wastebasket.

I do agree with Scippy, that on AOTK II the Eastern Powers are much more handsome, and even though it is obvious, its still nice for a Gorn to admit it from the Far West  ;D

Makes more sense to stick with traditional alliance and it is a hell of a lot less work.

Might make more sense but its more fun to throw all that SFB cheese into the basket and watch those stuck in their Ludite SFB purism wince  ;D

The secret to balancing the D2 is quite simply to put 2 PlasmaD's on all Lyran ships.

Really it's that simple.

tried all 4 generic klink pf's...all ctd

have not had a problem with fighters whatsoever...

also ctd with mirak pf's...

also ctd twice with isc...but dunno if it was pf's as i dont think they have any but...the i-catz is the only one i remember...but ctd twice...also have not had a problem with isc till now...had alot of missions with isc during the first week and a half of the server and no ctd...

hope this is not the case with roms too but im thinking it is...the last ctd i was cycling through targets targeting invisible mirak pf int's...then ctd after i cycled through targets a few times...   :-\

If you can't get DH's installer to work you can..

Make folders for all the PF's (should be <root dir> /DH123/Models/ xxx

xxx= fpf // ipf // kpf // hpf //ipf

-So you should have a directory in your root OP folder called DH123/Models/ fpf     etc.

You can then take whatver model you want to use (I'd recommned frigates)
from their respective race.
These models are either going to be in your assets/models folder or OP+/ models folder
Copy everything in the folder and paste it into the pf folder you've created
Then (in the pf folder) find a file called xxx.mod and xxx_brk.mod
replace the xxx in the files with the same name as the folder (fpf ipf zpf etc.) and you're ready to go

EX
You don't have a FPF folder or you have it and it's empty

1) Create the folder if necessary
mine would be games/op2/dh123/models/ fpf

2) Find the model you want to use
The Fed FF model is located in the assets/ models/ fff folder
(in my case it's games/op2/assets/models/fff

3)Copy everything from the fff folder and paste it in the dh123/models/ fpf folder

4) find the file called fff.mod in the fpf folder and rename it fpf.mod

5) Find the file called fff_brk.mod and rename it fpf_brk.mod

Rinse & repeat for the other PF folders and you're done
It may sound like alot of steps but to do all of them took me less than 1 minute.

(I couldn't get the installer to work either)
