Topic: Why are mid era drones out already?

It isn't mid era in 68 is it?

Just wondering since it really screws us non drone chuckers out there... especially those of us without plasma D to compensate for their small willies.

IIRC, there is a server issue where 4 years after start we automaticly get mid era drones.  Is that the case?  If so, shouldn't we plan everyone's mid era to start at the same time?

Yes, ideally we should modify the serverkit code so that drone speeds can be set by the exact server date, for some reason this seemed impossible to previous maintainters. For now, wrt the serverkit itself we are focusing on stability exclusively as priority, then "frill" issues such as this, since we are all doing it as volunteers on our extra time it may be a while, we appreciate your patience and dedication to the game.

Sure, give me the mid era ships to deal with mid era drones.

Or plan the mid era ships to come out with mid era drones

Or ask the player base to not use med spd drones until mid era official begins.

Actually I wouldn't think it would be that difficult to move up YFA's to where they
should be to match SFB drones YFA's.

it's called "ebb and flow," the Hydrans had an advantage for a while, now will be at a disadvantage for a few years.   Then the Stinger-2s will come out and it will be back again.

The romulans ships utterly sucked ass for the first 2 years.  They delt with it while we had the LB.

They are supposed to be out in 2268 anyway, the 2267 is only 1 year early and it is done with.  Stinger2 and StingerH fighters are out soon, the pendulum will shift.
