A lovely man, James Doohan: dead at 85.  He himself has been beamed up at last.

RIP Capt. Scott.

I was lucky to have met Mr. Doohan at an early Star Trek Convention at Sacramento City College in 1975..
He was very friendly, personable and even recalled to us how he had given his middle finger to Hitler!! He inspired me to become an electronics technician and was a positive influence in my life..

Rest in Peace!!

I have noted this on my own site as well.

Perhaps he is in an endless transporter loop - like in 'Relics'?

Rest in Peace, sir.
