Well, it finally happened!
« on: July 25, 2005, 09:58:44 pm »
Rom_Duck towed me into a rock...

Was so close... you must've had me by a few speed points, Duck. I was 26.5 and it seemed u were slower... it was very close, actually, I thought I was gonna get u, at least that was the plan, hehe.

Duck, I made a promise to myself a long time ago. I have gone 5+ years in this community towing peeps into rocks, from FF's to BB's. One of my most memorable missions was vs Capt. Jeff's NCL+, DH's CB and Wanderer's CVS+ vs just my NHK. I took all three of them out, two by rock. And all through this not once have I hit a rock. Til now. And my was promise was if that ever happened, it was time to hang it up and go home.

So farewell, to all of you, I'm finished here. It was a wonderful ride. So many great memories. So many great friends... I flew with all camps, the alliance and the coalition, and you all are exceptional folks. It wouldn't do to name names, there are too many, and then fewer still who are the closest. And those I will miss dearly...

I'm gonna keep my OP disk for my 8yr old son Brandon... he likes blowing up ships. Mb some day I'll teach him how to trac peeps into rocks. ;)

L8r folks... Happy hunting.

Dizzy
aka CabinGirl, Trinity, Crash Test Dummy, TacoBell... and mb a few more mb, hehe.

Slave Girls... and everything I have for it will be reserved for the new Omniverse. I'm planning on turning over all the resources to those that can use what the community has worked on over the years. So at least you will still have those slutty orion slave chicks to drool all over.

On the contrary ...

I can understand this.   One loss can potentially lead to two ..  or perhaps three.  If you loose too many some will begin to doubt your ability as a player.  Even worse .... some might even begin to think less of you as a player.

Over all this is probably a good move.  You have, after all, been one of the best in the game for a loooooong time.  (And in my book ..  probably still are).

If you aim at nothing:  you WILL hit it every time !

I've been doubting his ability as a player since the first time I fought him
(Well the second time maybe) He just wasn't even close to the caliber of
PVP player he claimed he was. ('Course he was still better than the KBF but...)
And he's still around so that's not it.

ummm errr umm

GG?

It was the only way my KR was going to beat your CC.. and I watched the film afterwards...you damn near made it away without being towed into the rock -- very close game diz..
PS -- others have tried to leave this game as well but we keep coming back because as of yet there really is no substitue.. besides diz -- do you really think you can retire without getting revenge first? Hop back into the captains chair and hunt down my Romulan POS (LoL that reminds me that happens to be my ship name)

Dizzy, STFU, and get your Butt back in the Captains chair. Your presence here is part of the establishment. It would do more harm to the community to see you leave, then It does your Ego, Bro.  ;)

Well, to balance things out I suppose it's only fair that those of us who've been rockified by Diz to post here.

Lost some random early era cruiser to Diz once a long time ago. His tractor spun just a wee faster than mine.

I still say he cheated.

What?!    A dent in the ego shield of the Great Diz.    Not possible.   (Leg-go his L-EGO, whoops, too late!!)

Here is the one pilot who hands out more STFUs on the forums than a gumball machine does gum at a Quit Smoking convention.

I don't believe it.

I have flown with you on countless missions, and have had my ship blown into to bits along side yours many times, SAY IT AIN'T SO.

IF I can recover from having an ISC BBV trapped in a 2 starbase mission over Ghdar, you can recover from hitting a rock.   Some may have forgotten, but that same ISC BBV got pushed into a planet by Chuut a day before its actual destruction.   ::)   Only when that mission didn't end did we realize the mission was bugged.   THANK GOD!!

So get your thumb out of your ass, and get back out there.   I haven't even had my chance to push you into a rock yet.   ;D

Your brother in arms,

Agave

Ego ?

Dizz ?

Surely you jest !

Lest we start an unfounded, possibly damaging, insulting roomer like this ...

I'll simply be a bit more direct:

No one has insulted your skills or abilities in this or other forums  ( only perhaps in the usual tasteful wise cracks or other forms of good old fashion fun).  No one has pressured you into a corner of obsolescence.  You have been a major contributor and, though controversial at times, still have the respect and support of the community.  So one question...

What's the real motive?

This does not make sense !

If you aim at nothing:  you WILL hit it every time !

Is L-EGO any good?  ???

I can tell ya a more scary story than this getting rock-smacked thinge.  This morning I had to go to an appt. in downtown Atlanta. It was an early morning appt. so this mean traffic hell is running rampant on the inter-states of GA's biggest smog producing city. So, I took the Light Rapid Transit line. And, what do I see when go to the train station to go back to my car which is located at the line's N. extreme end park 'n ride lot:  there's a unknown van parked in front of the an US Gov't Federal building (IRS & SSA stuff), and the building is right beside the train station. Then, there's a Black SUV with police lights flashing marked "Dept. of Homeland Security", and then there's US Fed agents in body-armor with big,big pistols crawling all over this truck.

I'm thinking the following:

  • Big US city
  • Mass transit train station
  • unknown van (at least, I don't know what it is)
  • Homeland Security dudes with guns and body armor
  • London

All I could say was "#*#$&$(*!!!". :O

Anyway, nothing happened so I guess it was nothing. Otherwise, I might be some statistic in the news right now. :P :P

Anway, they took away the van real quick . . .Although, hour later as I'm writing this and jogging my memory, it occurs to me that the van did say Brinks on it. Maybe, it was a cash transfer for the Fed Building's Cafeteria.

OK, maybe that was it. I can't believe that I just thought of that  :smackhead:

This is just yet another Dizzy ploy for us to all make him feel special and ask him not to leave.  Typically, ego-maniacal hubris.  Leave.  Who cares?

Firstly, Chuut, while I appreciate your humour and postings a great deal, that STFU animated gif is killer over dial-up, I had to wait over 5 minutes for it to download before I could reply to this thread without a "document contains no data" error...  >:(

OK, now to the business at hand:

Dizzy, I think you must have forgotten the term of service clause in your sign-up agreement for Dynaverse Admin Boot Camp Training. Check your contract, you'll find you owe us at least two more years of continued service and innovation. You must pass down your training. The MPs will be at your door shortly if you do not return to duty.  :police:

You know, I never figured out who Trinity was with the XTF (as he was never around and only there for the Rook's Tavern XTF forum). But I kinda figured it was you. Now I know.

Come on Diz. Whats worst, being towed into a rock? or killing yourself in a wormhole because of starcastling and forgeting there was a wormhole on the map? I did the second one. Twice.

I said my goodbyes and then deleted my shortcuts...

I did pretty good for the 1st week. Didn't even check the forums. But then.... I started thinking about it. And then I knew I was in trouble. I said to myself 'I'll just check to see what's up, see how the server is running... and thats all!' Then I knew I was in real trouble...

I tried 'game patch'... the one you wear on your skin to curb the craving you have for video game. I even tried 'game gum'. Neither worked. I still had the itch to play.

I thought I had the will power... I mean, I had noble reasons to quit. I could spend more time with the family... more time on my little projects, all 20 of them I've started around the house and haven't finished... It wasn't just the fact I hit a rock. Nah. Even tho I did make the promise to myself to quit if I did, I had those other real reasons to stop.

This game is dangerously addictive. There should be a warning label on it somewhere...

It doesn't make you a bad person..

I said my goodbyes and then deleted my shortcuts...

Even tho I did make the promise to myself to quit if I did, I had those other real reasons to stop.

This game is dangerously addictive. There should be a warning label on it somewhere...

Been there ....  done that ... You're too good a player with the expertise needed to help make this a better place.

I have tried to leave altogether ... but found other avenues of at least making some sort of contribution (small as it may be) .. at least in the modeling area we can do something.  Leaving ...  ?

Nah !

glad to see ya back bud !

Well, at least this game is free. Other people are now hopelessly hooked on MMORGs and pay a monthly fee and can't let go.  There are so many people that pay for multiple accounts on SWG. That's like $15 per account per month. So, some are paying $45 plus per month. :o

If you are well-to-do then that's understandable. But, so many people have consumer credit debt in US/Canada, so you gotta know that most of these people are paying $45 plus per month on a game when the money would have been better allocated to paying down credit card debt.

Now, that's just sad . . .
