2263 Test
« on: July 20, 2005, 02:21:48 pm »
VERY IMPORTANT that we test the server in the starting year. please verify you can attack all of your enemies in Patrols and base/planet assaults.

I think TG will be giving me new missions when I get home from work in 4 1/2 Hours.  They will be posted as soon as I have them.

I am starting the test serv back up using the Missions TG gave me last night

below is a new installer for those of you who have not installed this yet.   This is not needed if you have prevoisly installed the mod.

NOT:   If your game in NOT installed in the default location the enable AOTK2 Desktop Shortcuts will not work.   Run the DH123.bat batch fril from the root of your OP directory to create the ship models and swap out the files.

I'm having ISP issues.  Ther server is up for the 2263 test but I cannot sign on.   I moved operations to THOR so my internet issues will not affect the server running.

PLEASE TEST THIS!  I CANNOT.

A and B seem fine.  Tobin was running a C when I left.  Yards for the mirak look normal for the era.  Ran out of time to play more.

I ran allied b and c. In allied C, I was up against D7-Cs. Are they supposed to be out? Also, when I was warping in and before sheilds were up, I heard Phaser-Gs firing. (had hydran allies) Klinks were not in range at all and I took no damage.

This problem with allied ships firing at you seems to be a problem with the client code. I have seen this hapenning sometimes in stock missions as well. I am seeing it happen moreso in these missions though and I think its because the ships are starting so close together. The team remations are set in the mission script, making teams either allied or hostile. The warp in part of the code does not execute until after the team relations are set but it appears that it takes a few moments for the client game to update this.  Perhaps this is why all the stock missions have ships starting further apart.

since i dont know much about these things, would it help/be possible to start a little further away from each other and slowly converge as you warp to the rally point?

Yes, that is an excellent suggestion

Any other deal-breakers other than the Shipyards and Econ?

It isn't something that can be helped, but the fighters in the early era are SO worked down that a regular admin shuttle gets in more attacks before being destroyed  :banghead:

More like frigging paper air planes.

I took a GSC out, just to see if it would be better than taking out the CL, friggin' launched all my shuttles and was swarming a klink D7C with phaser 3 fire, and I still had to capture the ship to finish the mission!  I let the damn fighters go, they few in, didn't fire a shot and the Klink AMD took them about in about 1/6 of a second.

Bump, today is the last day of testing (unless this gets pushed back) and since I'm F'd conneciton wise,we need as much feedback as possible regarding bugs.

I will set the server back to 2273 at around 2 PM today so you don't have to fly the crap ships for much longer.

You gotta keep the teams at stock start positions or further apart, no closer than that otherwise yer risking the teams having relations problems.
