I kinda wondered about this ...  I think that perhaps we have one of three choices ..

1.  Leave the phaser array there as it is  and leave the "power" thingy to being only a token of the strength of an Armada  ( say using ph 10's instead of ph 13's )

2.  Do a little photoshop magic ..  and "narrow" the phaser arrays to match the above idea

3.  Drop the "array" to something similar to what the Ambassador Class uses  (much smaller strips in key areas)

Over all I believe that there should be only a token or "minimal" amount of phasers on this type of vessel.

*snip*
3 requires a Max or a simular program, and they are all have seperate grouping I think which would make them easy to select and remove.

nope no layers, as far as I remember i saved the armada into a single object when i finished it :P

GotaFarmYet

Thanks for all of your help:  the link ..   and the suggestions as well.  I dont have Max .. which is why I have to stick to doing some retext stuff.

Also ..  please note :

I appreciate the suggestions and support on this little project.  It's been interesting work for me  ( I'm really just beginning to understand this aspect of retexturing)

I think I will see what making the main saucer strips appear to be narrower ... and   reconstruct a hand full in key places.

again ...

thanks guys !

P.S. I can also remove the bottom strip from her Engineering section ;) Jus say yes... It's you project But I can help you... :)

SWEET !  I think redoing those phaser arrays would be the best way to go.  The only other thing that would be necessary would be to relocate the "map"  for painting the strips.

That's all I ask ....  (And maybe a little note in the read me file..  There are a couple of Major sites that don't even acknowledge my input on the "Bass Master".  Not that "Project Coordinator" is that big a deal.  But it is nice for someone to acknowledge the novice.)

IMHO  ..  here are the major players in the credits file to begin with ...   Mine would just be a side note of some sort.

Model:         Armada
Modeller:      p81/Mackie
Conversion/Scaling:   Mackie/atheorhaven
Hard/Damage Points:   atheorhaven
Illumination:      p81/Mackie/atheorhaven
Break Mod:      atheorhaven
UI use for hp/dp:   FDN

----------------------

does this sound right ?

Makie ?  Atheorhaven ?

(In put please on this particular matter from those of you who have been around for a while)

This also brings up the question:

Who do I need to see to get permission for the release?

This is something I am most insistant on .... I believe very strongly in doing this right.

thanks

You left off "Textures"

another update

GotAFarmYet ...  this what you had in mind ( the last 2 picts  with the textures visible in the Red Cross?)

Also the 1st one is just a quickie on the up-date where we have finally started the rework of the pod underneath the primary hull.

In-put appreciated

thanks

hey thats really cool! i seriously doubted that you could make (or anyone else no matter the skills with retexturing) a med ship from a ship with so war alike outlook like armada but did anyways... like said, really cool  8)

That's a BIG compliment! I was thinking pretty much the same thing.

A ship of that size with those kind of facilities would most likely be a theater level asset in the event of a war.

TMP Mirandas, FASA Chandley and Northampton classes also look good as hospital ships but wouldn't have the patient/medical resource capacity the Armada would.

Well done for a TNG/Post-TNG hospital ship.

I deeply appreciate the kind words...

With that in mind ...

Sapharite :  Let me know how you propose to make the phaser changes.

Now you will also see in the middle picture that you left out a window in the lower right side of the cross.

As for the Readme
Ass the line anyways released or not, that way if anyone borrows it from your PC and it gets out you have the basics covered.
And next step is adding the glows in which is hard on that orgianl asthe colours have to change some with distance and fore to aft

Personally no but...

In TOS and TMP the glows were not as prevailant as they are in the TNG ships, the lighting was softer and more subdued. TNG ships have much more noticiable glows on them and reflections on the hulls as well. This has more to do with the changes in filming technology in the late 70s' and 80s' that allowed them to use brighter lights and colours than in the past. So if you are doing a TNG retexture you should add the glows, I added them in the ship I uploaded.

The glows on you current work are not visible to me in thoise screen shots. I also noticed in Screen shots of the one I sent to you, they also are not noticiable either don't think the model viewer can handle those light colours. So glows need to be added to get that TNG feel more or less, and you need to fix that one window.

LOL ...

Actually I have spent a rather large part of this project removing them ..

LOL

Mostly to leave it up to others who might choose to use this in a MOD ..   or do an upgrade .  Let's face it  I'm still just learning ( taking baby steps ) ...  There is no telling what someone who is REALLY good at this can do with it !

I will make two versions ...  One with:  the other without.
