A question for Milkshape users
« on: July 15, 2005, 10:23:27 pm »
Can you remove texture mapping groups without deleting the polygons of the model? If I have to remap an area can I somehow delete the old grouping? If I select a group and "delete" it, it deletes the polygons. I just want to remove the grouping. I hope I'm explaining it correctly.

Thanks,

Do you mean by putting new textures on a group, or create a new group to apply a texture?

Here's an example. I textured the nacelles on a model. Unfortunately I missed a couple of polies on one of the nacelles. To redo them I have to reselect all of the polies/faces again and then select "regroup". Now, the old group that I messed up on will still be there though. Can I remove the messed up group. If I select "delete" it deletes the polies from the old group. I don't want to delete the polies, just the messed up grouping.

if you regroup the whole nacelle it should automaticaly remove the old grouping in favor of the new unless your not selecting ALLthe polies from the old grouping

Thanks, Antivyrus. This is my first use of MS3D and I didn't realise that's how it worked. I hadn't tried to regroup all of the polies in a grouping before, just sections.
