Hey Mackie - what do you think of the TMP version of the Åland?





I called it the USS Izhora, I chose the name to see if you'd recognise it, it's Finnic, but not Finnish. It only took about 20mins, I managed to nick the 'TMP style' textures on the hull and bridge from another project I'm working on using the Avenger catamarans amongst other bits'n'pieces to make a TMP NX-01.

If you and WZ agree to release I'll send it to RogueNine and do the other 2 aswell.

Thanks for the complements, unfortunately I can't send it in 3DS or LWO as I don't have either program, I work directly in .MOD format using the M6 program, every one of my kitbashes is done using it. I'll send you the bare basic .MOD file now, but it will lack a break model, M6 doesn't like _brk.mods, if you can get someone to make a _brk.mod for it then I'll send it right over.

Oh and don't worry about the Kellka and Forssa, I'll do up TMP versions of them too, but it'll have to be tommorrow as it's 04:10 here.

P.S. the name Izhora is the Izhoran word for their land, in Finnish it's called Inkeri, in Swedish - Ingermanland and in English and Latin - Ingria. It's now the area around Sankt Peterburg in Russia. Back during the purges Stalin nearly wiped out the Izhorans. They're a Finnic people very closely related to the Karelians and Estonians (living directly between the two peoples) but now there are only about 300 left at the last census and all of those are elderly so they'll be extinct in a decade or so.

ah np just read the updated message above , you can do what you want with the other two too since you did so good work with Aland class :)
I suppose you can send em to me whenever you think youve done what you can, ill take it from there and get someone (atheorhaven most likely :p) to convert them ;)

as for the name... very touching. this street where i reside on, nearly all the old people living here are Izhoran refugees, i have a couple in my family too.. (no i didnt know what, Izhora,  ment until you told). ;/
and as far as I know Izhorans are ABOUT the same racial stock as every other Finn although they have bit more baltic blood in them, just as side note and a thought about them :)

PTs are tasty. And WZ's Lexxy nacelles look more at home on the Izhora. ::)

And Mackie, could you please be a little neater with yer bashes next time? Makes retexturing easier.

Marauth, I just realized about your asking me about the old Monitor retextures and the word files. Grab me on MSN and I can send in through that, and try and walk you through it or explain stuff. We three can have a little chat going or whatever. :P

I'll be coming out with a TOS-retex of this, with my own, detailed textures. I hope you all like 24-bit glows, because I live on them.

FYI s33k and mariner, is gonna take a bit to get out the tmp versions cause im taking my time to do other RL shiz atm. also cause i need to convert both of your stuff to lwo and then combine mariners cleaned up meshes with what s33k did to get out the perfect tmp versions :)
