P.S.: Aland is the proper name, the islands are monolingually Swedish and they call it Aland, actually they put a little circle thingy over the 'A' which make it pronounced 'oh-land' but anyway. Ahvenanmaa is the Finnish version of the name, cause it's technically a part of Finland now, though they have humungous autonomy cause the locals almost rebelled in the 1920s demanding their 'return' to Sweden, them being Swedes and all.
I dunno how we English manage to know either version of the name, Swedish or Finish as we have a habit of butchering European location names, like 'Florence' should be Firenze, or 'Copenhagen' which should be København, or the one I find the most ludicrous, Livorno, a port in Italy is called 'Leghorn' in English, I mean WTF?
