K3R "Nei'rrh" Bird of Brey

Owner : Romulan Star Empire
Class : Medium Ship
Availability : Unlimited Deployment
In Service : 2261
Out of Service : 2293
------------------
Description:

The Klingons decided to give the Romulans only the oldest of their Deep Space Fleet D6's after signing the alliance with the Emipre. In the meantime, they sent 18 old D4 training cruisers to the Romulans to appease them.
The Klingons knew that this would not be enough, so they included 21 of the new E3 escort hulls in the deal.
Unlike the rest of the ships sent to the Romulans, these were brand new.
The Romulans wondered what they would do with these outdated cruisers and underarmed escorts, but the fates smiled upon them.
The E3's proved to be perfectly suited to the Romulan fighting style.
They had only minimum phaser armament, but this meant that the plasma torpedos could draw that much more power.
The fact that the E3's had several point-defense phasers instead of only one or two larger ones also made them more capable of defending themselves against drones.
Aptly named after a venomous, hummingbird-sized avian, the K3R's were armed with two plasma-F torpedos.
This gave them more punch than ANY ship her size or production cost.
Also, once the two plasma torpedos were charged, the Nei'rrh were one of the fastest escorts in the galaxy.
The combination of firepower and speed made her one of the best KR-series ships.

Thanks guys, I found an authentic TOS canon Romulan emblem......
so this ship just kinda developed from there.

Nice find!  I don't think I've ever noticed that one before.  I just kind of took the bird symbol for granted and never looked for a different one.

If the symbol originated in the episode "The Enterprise Incident" (which I'm sure it did), then it looks Klingon to muddy the issue of the Klingon emblems on the D-7s the Romulans are using.

Yup they're available at Battleclinic

Give the man a cigar, that where the symbol comes from...........

Now I rember it's from Atra's site that I saw the pic. Here's what he had to say about it.

This is a combo of the wall logo, the TAS logo, and the helmet emblem. All three seemed to fit together quite appropriately. I obviously fancied it up a bit for my own site's purposes:

I've been watching this post for a while now.  A lot of good input.  Brings back of lot of fond memories of the original releases.

NICE !!!!!! I like both WZ's interpetation and Terradyhne's ship as well. I wouldn't mind seeing more TOS Rommies with that emblem on them.
