Chaos in computer performance (PDF)

I have read studies of the effect of human will on chaotic processes... I was convinced of the correlation. This reinforces my computer "superstitions"; talk nicely to it, give it a pat when its being good...  ;D

My old Gateway 486's keyboard survived a dousing with Diet Coke.  I know, I really should have had real Coke.

WHAT DID YOU SAY?

NPR is a lot like NASCAR.  Two hundred miles an hour in a circle, and you end up right back where you started with nothing but lost time for the effort.

I really LOVE the Focus company of Taiwan's keyboards; they still click as you type (ahh, gives me that satisfying end to the keystroke), but it's that that loud metallic click of the old IBM keyboards.

I'm typing on a Focus FK-2001 right now.  Unfortunately they have discontinued it and I don't know if they make a clicky keyboard anymore.  It was cheap, too, like somewhere between $5-8, USD.

Older Keytronics keyboards are my favorite, indestructable. (Like the old IBMs too)

I have forgotten what the Keytronics ones are like; was it a softer, though quite audible and palpable click like the Focus or the more metallicky feeling and sounding one like the IBM?

Softer than the IBM, without the click, but still relatively firm keys.
