It looks good.  If you still want me to make the other modifications, please send me this model to work with.

;D so far so good. Now instead of a "Frankenstein's monster" type head now it resembles a xenomorph from the Alien series, LOL.

I appreciate what you guys are doing to make this Romulan freight train more appealing.

I'll get on it either later tonight or tomorrow.  I'm still at my parent's house right now, but I'll be going back to my dorm tonight because I have class tomorrow morning.

I agree KF ..

For a race that should be know for being more "sleek" in its design concepts .."freight train"  is about what comes to my mind on the one released in the game !

Keep up the good work guys .. !

Ok, I'm back at my dorm and I've done a little work on this one.  When you sent me that email about making the disruptors less blocky, is this sort-of what you had in mind?

I guess I'll go ahead and share some pics of the modified/retextured Romulan Frigate/Destroyer I'm working on, too.  I always thought it was cheap how they had the same model for both the Frigate and Destroyer.  I think they should've used a model of the Romulan scout vessel you see in TNG for the Frigate.

lookin good.. the stock models for Romulans... well, suck... I flat out replaced every one of them with completely different models. There are some good Raptor and Hawk models, and I definately like the Talon model that was converted from Armada 2

I did pretty much the same thing back when I was playing the single player campaign.

Hehe, oh, yeah!  I thought you would make it less narrow like the Warbird's disruptors do, but this is even better!  What about the back of the disruptor?

I've made a few slight changes to the nacelles.  I've narrowed the front and back of them to further reduce the boxiness of the model.

The Romulan Battlecrusier their looks really nice.  I like it better then the Warbird we see in TNG all the time.  Too bad they didn't come up with this ship for the show instead.   ::)

As for the other smaller ships in SFC3, I agree with Victory, I didn't like them much either.

Romulans frequently suffer on the aesthetic front - the Hawk was in deperate need of a makeover and you've managed to improve her massively.  Excellent job.

This middle Impulse screams to me, "HANGAR DOORS!" Perhaps an alternate texture for hangar doors be included.....

Nice work guys.

That's an interesting idea.  Maybe I could do that and convert it from SFC3 to SFC2.  This ship is actually for greenvalv's Stock Ship Replacement mod for SFC3, so there wouldn't be any reason to put hangar doors on it, but maybe it would make a good Romulan carrier for OP.

and who says you can't have a carrier in SFC3? we've got carriers in every race in our mods.

You may want to change the glows then, too.  I redid the glow groups to match the mesh changes and the red engines.

;D I like the red glows myself.

Perhaps a happy medium can be reached whereby the red textures  is changed to IDENTICAL green textures?

I still want to see a hangar bay door on one version ;)

Thanks for sharing these WIPs pics.

Just open up the .gf file in Notepad or Word Pad and see what the RGB values are for the green glows and then adjust the colors for the red glows to match those values.

Nah, I used the Model Attribute Editor.

I went to go edit them and to my surprise, they were still green.

that's odd.  Oh well.  In that case you should probably move the front glow group onto the mesh since it should be floating just in front of it.  You may want to adjust the glow on the disruptors too.

Since I changed the Hawk's engines, I tackled the Raptor's as well.....
