You have to take into account that there is a reason behind Hydrans having good fighters, mainly because a lot of ships are clearly heavilly dependant on them in terms of weapons. For some of the ships, without fighters there would be a clear inbalance in terms of firepower with some of the other races.

Hydrans therefore IMO arent cheesy, ISC on the other hand...

Kzin - maybe the toughest race to fly in late era.

It is the easiest race, by far, to fly against the AI.  In early/mid against a human...if you take a Kzin droner (5 or more racks) they suck.  If you take a non-droner (4 or less) and focus on employing the dizzies offensively while using the drones defensively (to soak up phasers or ecourage the other player to turn where you want them to) they can do pretty well.  In late...stick w/ the CVAs or some of the HDWs...the rest suck.

+1 Kahlee...not for the wording of your post, but rather for an effort to breathe a little life into the forums through the time-proven method of trolling.

The ISC are not cheese!!!

It's just that the ISC built "the best given starship in any hull class", ie, we have the best CA, CL, DD, BB, etc. etc.

They're built so good, in fact, that they can take on ships "one hull class" bigger than them...

I-CAZ vs many BCHs.
I-CSZ vs. CCs

etc. etc.

And I thought cheese was purely defined by the number of gatling phasers and G-model drone racks your ship carried...

I think some missed the humor intended with Khalee's posts.

Well, except for the Gorn part.  That part was true.  ;)

The ISC being cheese has nothing to do with hull class. BPV-per-BPV they have the best ships in the game hands down.

Why? Simple - unlike every other race, they have no weaknesses.

A CCZ is the perfect example - it is the ISC echelon packed into one ship. For many races, there is simply no way to beat it with anything short of a heavy dread, let alone at 220.

95% of the time you lose a PvP, it is for one of two reasons: either your ship was outmatched, or you made a mistake (or more than one).

Analyzing and learning from your mistakes is the key to improvement.

Correct strategic deployments can also overcome ship to ship matchup difficulties.  That is part of the strategy aspect of the game.  With different races having different abilities, it becomes imperative to play to you sides strengths in order to define the battlefield so that ship vs ship matches become of less consequence.

Bingo.

I tell you it scares me when I get drafted it does. ...there are a few who I would like to Kill on a server yeah Hexx is one and Crim. <snip>

Scares the hell out of me too... hehe. But most of the time all I can remember about it is the adrenalin rush. One of the best things and why I hang around.

I have a few players I'd like to pwn. I dont think I've ever nailed Corbo and I've had a few chances. He takes special interest when he engages me. I'd probably win if he didnt know it was me... Blade too, that punk ass porch dog!

I'd like to thank Kim for her 2 cents, if only because it's nice to see her post here and share her perspective...

ROFL!!! Sorry about showing my intellectual side there, for some reason the original post was funny to me.

I just kept imagining Khalee1 grinning ear to ear when posting this.  LOL!!!

With mixed races you can over come the ISC's superiority of design.

On GW5, Corbmite and I winged together a lot flying Fed and Gorn.  The Gorn functioned like the "Gunline" and the Fed's proxies closely emulated the PPD.   I'm sure other races flying together can do something similar.

Yes it's trolling, but trolling's fun ;D

I've found that whenever I'm in a PvP situation on the D2, I always get owned, but only because I'm not a nutter.  I ususally get drafted in a CL or smaller ship by a CA or larger (usually a BCH).  I never run because I love PvP, and even though I've been outclassed as much as 5 hull classes (my HDW vs. Mav's DNH), I always take at least 10 minutes to die ;D
