ISC is the easiest race to fly, very easy to make people look stupid in those ships.   This is especially true in D2 where our obscesion on "Ship class" and not BPV determies how ships are categorized.

Second easiest has to be Lyran just because Hexx manages to kill people in those ships

Gorn is without a doubt the hardest to fly. If for no other reason than that the poor pilot is left with having to compare himself with me, which quite frankly is an impossible task. Having to live up to the impossibly high bar I have set with my charm, beauty and grace leaves most pilots disheartened and unable to perform up to expectation. Why just look what has happened over the last few servers with the few previously steadfast Gorn pilots. Most defected to the "cheese" races of the ISC and Romulans just to try and get out from under my shadow.  They had become frustrated having to always play the understudy to my lead, and finally realized they would never measure up, and then eventual just gave up and went over to the dark side.

Personally I think Lyran is pretty tough to fly, unless you go LDR cheese.

Klingon is tough to fly well. Anybody can compete flying Klingon, excelling at it is another matter.

Fed likewise. Real proxies would make Fed a lot more challenging to fly (as it used to be).

Rom - tough to master that cloak, but once you do you can be damn near unbeatable.

Gorn - with the exception of a few ships is a very tough race to fly. How would you like to have Ph-1 as your heavy weapon?

ISC - please. 

Kzin - maybe the toughest race to fly in late era.

Hydran - it really depends, because Hydran has many flavors and each one has a rock/paper/scissors quality with every other race. Fighter cheese works well against ISC and Gorn (unless they have D or I-torps) but not against drone races. Hellbore boats work well against Klinks and Lyrans, but not Feds or ISC, etc etc.

You have to take into account that there is a reason behind Hydrans having good fighters, mainly because a lot of ships are clearly heavilly dependant on them in terms of weapons. For some of the ships, without fighters there would be a clear inbalance in terms of firepower with some of the other races.

Hydrans therefore IMO arent cheesy, ISC on the other hand...

Kzin - maybe the toughest race to fly in late era.

It is the easiest race, by far, to fly against the AI.  In early/mid against a human...if you take a Kzin droner (5 or more racks) they suck.  If you take a non-droner (4 or less) and focus on employing the dizzies offensively while using the drones defensively (to soak up phasers or ecourage the other player to turn where you want them to) they can do pretty well.  In late...stick w/ the CVAs or some of the HDWs...the rest suck.

It's just that the ISC built "the best given starship in any hull class", ie, we have the best CA, CL, DD, BB, etc. etc.

They're built so good, in fact, that they can take on ships "one hull class" bigger than them...

The ISC being cheese has nothing to do with hull class. BPV-per-BPV they have the best ships in the game hands down.

Why? Simple - unlike every other race, they have no weaknesses.

A CCZ is the perfect example - it is the ISC echelon packed into one ship. For many races, there is simply no way to beat it with anything short of a heavy dread, let alone at 220.

With mixed races you can over come the ISC's superiority of design.

On GW5, Corbmite and I winged together a lot flying Fed and Gorn.  The Gorn functioned like the "Gunline" and the Fed's proxies closely emulated the PPD.   I'm sure other races flying together can do something similar.

I've found that whenever I'm in a PvP situation on the D2, I always get owned, but only because I'm not a nutter.  I ususally get drafted in a CL or smaller ship by a CA or larger (usually a BCH).  I never run because I love PvP, and even though I've been outclassed as much as 5 hull classes (my HDW vs. Mav's DNH), I always take at least 10 minutes to die

There was lag...

There was a lack of common sense about eating Plasma Fs from a beat-up F-BCF too.  Not to mention picking on the F-BCF instead of the F-DNH thingie which just happens to be piloted by one of the best Fed pilots in that dyna.

Lag??  Yeah, right...details, details...Besides the I'm pretty sure the  mission was in an EEK Patrol. It actually had AI stripping in it and I was actually playing, so that confims it right there.

 EEK don't do lag.

Actually, now that I think of it: back before doing all that EEK coding stuff got me so PvP rusty, I cleaned the clocks of some Feds and Kzin on the IDSL server. Now those were really challenging matches. Much harder than that little GW thing.  I mean it was so hard to do over-runs in a I-CCZ and take a SP in the face and still come out of it alive; especially, if you had to take out the F-CVA's fighter group first before doing that.  Plasmas Is are your friend and I really think the I-CCZ needs a big power boost and at least six more tractors added on.

I mean my poor little I-CCZ even made Chuut-Riit's Z-MDC run away after he lost all his drones. What a totally lop-sided match that was for the Frogs. Now, that's what we frogs call a hard match.

The only player that destroyed and F-CB while I was Cammding it was Dizzy twice other than that I haven't lost one becuase I use something different and the reason DieHard is reluctant to assign me an OOB ship.
